Add dental procedures to growing list of medical operations that the Philippines is providing in its quest to corner a share of the multibillion-dollar global medical tourism industry. At the forefront of this movement is Dr. Steve Mark G. Gan, who is leading the efforts to highlight the expertise of the country’s dental practitioners, while getting the latest dental technologies from around the world to provide premium services to patients.
“Having been in the industry for more than 10 years, we have built a solid reputation as a first-class dental center among distinguished local celebrities, famous names and now, foreign tourists,” Mr. Gan told reporters. “Given how dental operations could be very costly abroad, we hope to attract tourists to get their dental procedures done here in the country at a fraction of a cost,” he added.
Mr. Gan, who is currently a member of the Board of Dentistry of the Philippine Regulation Commission, recently opened the latest branch of his Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center (GAOC) at the ground floor of The Residences at Greenbelt. Located along Arnaiz Avenue (formerly Pasay Road) in Makati, the new dental clinic specializes in dental implants, cosmetic surgery and general dentistry.
