AMEinfo.com | 2009-10-02

Organised by Omanexpo LLC, MedHealth & Wellness 2009 is shaping up to be one of the biggest health exhibitions in the Middle East region, with the participation of over 65 companies from a total of 17 countries worldwide. The three-day international exhibition will showcase all types of medical supplies and equipment, pharmaceutical products, health services, alternative therapies, and many other products and services related to healthcare, including medical tourism.

"MedHealth & Wellness 2009 gives particular attention to medical tourism as it is now increasingly growing in importance worldwide as a way for patients to get the medical procedures and health services they need to effectively treat their ailments,"

said Nasser Diab, General Manager of Omanexpo LLC, the pioneer exhibition management company and the leading organiser of trade shows in the sultanate.

Diab revealed that a total of 17 international hospitals and medical centres will be exhibiting at MedHealth & Wellness 2009 to present their range of medical services to patients and other potential clients. They will be offering medical tourism services in countries like Egypt, Germany, India, Jordan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the UAE.

Among the participating hospitals and medical centres are the Ahalia Health Heritage & Knowledge Village, American Hospital Dubai, Apollo Hospitals Group-India, Bangkok Hospital Medical Center, Dar Alfouad Hospital, Global Hospitals, Klinikum Nuernberg, Klinikum Stuttgart, Lakeshore Hospital & Research Centre Ltd., Pantai Hospitals, Piyavate Hospital, Prince Court Medical Centre, the Public Healthcare Group, RSU Healthcare Co. Ltd., Speciality Hospital, Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, and Wooridul Hospital.

In addition to international hospitals, many leading hospitals and clinics in Oman have also confirmed their participation in MedHealth & Wellness 2009 to showcase their operations as well as the medical services they offer to patients. Among these are Apollo Medical Centre - Muscat, Euro Arabian Specialist Dental Center, International Medical Specialty Center, KIMS Oman Hospital, Magrabi Eye & Ear Center, and Muscat Eye Laser Center.

"The public should take full advantage of the strong presence of many hospitals, clinics and medical centres in MedHealth & Wellness 2009 to learn more about the world-class health services that are available here in Oman and in other countries that are serving as popular destinations for medical tourism," said Melwin D'Cunha, project manager of Omanexpo LLC.
