LONE TREE,
Colo. (CBS4) ―Douglas County is the fifth richest county in the U.S. and now it's
becoming a major player in the world of plastic surgery. Some doctors are offering ski and golf packages to lure in patients.
Others are boasting the latest techniques at a discounted rate. One
Colorado doctor is helping people beat the recession while getting a
whole new look. Dr. David Broadway and his partner opened up Bod:Evolve in Lone Tree two
years ago. They offer cutting-edge plastic surgery at prices Los
Angeles can't touch -- sometimes for half the price. Bod:Evolve has its own surgery center and much lower overhead than Los
Angeles. Those savings are passed on to the customer and it's attracting
patients worldwide. "Twenty different countries here. We've had patients here from about 40
different states," Broadway said. Patient ages run from the late teens to much older. "I did a breast augmentation on a 72-year-old," Broadway said. "She
looks great. She said she wanted to be the best looking thing in the
home." Tisha Silva lives in Arizona. After extensive research, she chose
Broadway for her breast enhancement surgery. "I had consultations with other doctors as well and he was very
personable; he made me feel very comfortable as well that's what did it
for me," Silva said. Another popular procedure is high-definition liposuction, which takes
fat from a person's waist and adds it to their chest. "Three-dimensionally trying to resculpture people. Trying to make them
look more athletic," Broadway said. Bod:Evolve has gotten international exposure on the Internet. Broadway
says Colorado is an easy sell. Patients like Silva agree. "I know I will have more plastic surgery in the future and I know I'll
be coming back to Dr. Broadway," she said. Cosmetic surgery costs anywhere from $6,000 to $25,000 depending on the
procedure. Demand is down nationwide, but Broadway says his practice has
been so successful, he's now setting up an office in Dubai.
