Breast cancer patients should not be left unsatisfied following reconstructive surgery, warns leading UK cosmetic surgeon and former C4 Embarrassing Bodies expert Dalvi Humzah.
A member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, Mr Humzah is calling on all breast cancer patients to expect more from their reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy.
The number of women diagnosed with the disease in the UK has now risen from around 46,000 to 47,000 according to the latest statistics from Breast Cancer Care (2011).
Over the past twelve months, Mr Humzah's clinic - Plastic and Dermatology Surgery (PDS) - has seen a significant increase in the number of breast cancer patients requesting further reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy due to 'poor' and 'undesirable' results.
