Treatments
Jiva’s doctors have expertise in treating a wide range of health problems. These include arthritis, migraine, high blood pressure, kidney problem, livery problem, skin diseases and more! Your treatment begins even before you arrive in India. Prior to your visit, you will have a phone or email consultation with our doctors, who find out all relevant information about your health condition and history. This enables them to get you prepared for your treatment. Once you arrive, the doctor will take an additional consultation, and set up a complete treatment program for you that includes a customized diet, massage and oil therapies, herbal medicines, and exercise plan. You will follow this program for the duration of your stay, after which, the doctor will create a maintenance program for you to help keep you healthy.
Dr. Pratap Chauhan – Leading Health Expert
In 1992 Dr. Partap Chauhan started the Jiva Ayurveda Clinic from his residence with a dream to bring authentic, affordable Ayurveda to everyone in the world. It was a big dream for the youngest son of a modest farming family. However, today, Dr. Chauhan worked dedicatedly to turn his dream into a reality. In the early 90’s when Ayurveda was hardly known outside India, he set up the world’s first Ayurvedic website and online clinic. He visited more than 50 countries to understand the problems faced by people all over the globe, and met with leading health experts from various fields to find the most effective ways to integrate Ayurvedic treatments into people’s lives.
With this comprehensive understanding of Ayurveda and modern science, Dr. Chauhan has established the Jiva Ayurveda Clinic as a leading health and wellness institute not just in India, but in the world.
Why Choose Jiva Ayurveda
When it comes to your health, you should never compromise. You deserve the best treatment with personalized care. You should not be forced to wait for excessive time to speak to a doctor. And the doctor should give ample time—not just to listen to you, but to hear you. To hear fully about your entire health problem. The treatment prescribed for you should be safe, effective, and natural—it should give significant results with no side effects. The doctors and therapists that treat you should treat you the way they would treat a family member with heartfelt concern and an attention to your needs. And lastly, your treatment should be affordable. You should not have to pay an arm and a leg to regain your health.
These above concepts are tenets of the ancient Ayurvedic way. And Jiva holds these principles at the core of our value system.
Our Patients
Patients come to Jiva from around the world—from over 100 countries. No matter who they are, they all expect one thing—that they receive high-quality, personalized, effective treatment. We are pleased to say that the vast majority of our patients come from personal references of friends and families—people who have regained their health through the quality treatments that we provide. We also have a large number of repeat patients, demonstrating that people visit us again for new health problems they face because they have received successful healthcare from Jiva in the past.
… More than Just a Clinic
In addition to our quality treatment, people choose Jiva because of the unique experience we provide. First, we don’t treat people just at the bodily level. We treat people at all three levels—body, mind, and soul. Our entire staff connects with our guests, creating a family-like atmosphere, and lifelong bonds.
In addition, the Jiva Institute has a variety of other activities that interest our guests. Jiva’s three departments (Education, Ayurveda, and Culture) work to help people lead healthier, happier lives through traditional Indian knowledge systems. Our programs include:
- Professional Ayurvedic courses that enable people to become Massage Therapists, Panchkarma Therapists, Spa Therapists, and Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultants
- A Vedic Library with thousands of rare Sanskrit books on Ayurveda and Vedic literature. Our media department publishes books, textbooks, videos, and more.
- A K-12 school that integrates traditional Indian values with modern skills.
- An outreach program provides health and livelihood opportunities to villagers living on less than two dollars per day.
Guests enjoy finding various ways of getting involved in these projects as teachers, editors, videographers, and more.

Treatment
Jiva offers a wide range of Ayurvedic treatment for all types of health problems. Treatments begin by the doctor taking complete details of the patient’s history, including all prior medical reports, and then performing an Ayurvedic analysis. Once the check up is complete, the doctor makes a diagnosis and prescribes a course of treatment that may consist of a special diet, herbal pills and powders, massage and oil therapy, steaming, and an exercise routine. Doctors are extremely careful to ensure that any prescription that is made does not interfere with other medicines or therapies that the patient is currently receiving. After the treatment is complete, the doctor creates a maintenance plan for the patient to follow to ensure his or her health remains in balance.
To date, Jiva has treated over 100,000 patients from around the world from over 100 countries.

Local Attractions
We realize that you are not only coming to India for Ayurvedic treatment. You also want to get a taste of India—to experience the people, culture, food, music, arts, and so on. We pride ourselves in our ability to create a unique Indian experience for our patients and guests—to make a healthy and memorable Indian experience.
While you are at the Jiva Clinic, there are many things to do and places to visit. We are happy to work with you to set up a travel plan that meets your needs and interests.
Things to Do
While you are here at Jiva, you can
- Visit a Local Village: They say India lives across 5 generations. Go back in time and feel the simplicity of life and living as you visit a small farming village just 20 minutes from our center. Enjoy a chat with the village elders, talk about the weather, enjoy hot milk in clay cups, grind wheat by hand, take snaps of peacocks in the fields. It’s an experience of a lifetime.
- Visit the Bazaar. A trip to the Old Faridabad Market is truly a bazaar experience. Buy shawls, saris, home furnishings, jewelry, and more. Though some shops have fixed prices, there are many others where you can practice your haggling skills. Be sure to get a good buy!
- Visit an Indian Shopping Mall. Though you might have visited shopping malls a million times, you can expect a different experience at the Indian malls. You will find everything—food, music, clothing, jewelry, make up—and foreign brands too, often at prices lower than at home.
- Visit the Sabji Mandi (fruit and vegetable market). Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and smells of the local sabji mandi. As you make your way through the bustling crowd, you’ll find exotic fruits and spices—and smiling faces. Get some sweet cheekoos, babugoshas, and amrood. What are they? You’ll have to taste them to find out.
- Watch a Bollywood Movie: Most of our guests love to experience Indian films with all their fun, song, and dance. Faridabad has three deluxe cinema halls that are on par with international theaters. And you will surely become enamored when you see stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai sway across a hundred foot screen to high-decible filmi music.
- Get Tailor-Made Indian Clothing: Blend in with the locals—get a sari or an Indian outfit custom made and luxuriate in the vibrant colors and exquisite designs of Indian attire. Good quality tailoring is very inexpensive. Why buy something off the rack when you can have your own signature suit made for a fraction of the cost?!
- Get Mehndi on your Hands: Mehndi is a paste made from henna that is applied to the hands and body to create a “temporary tattoo”. It is an age-old tradition that women perform during holidays, marriages, and just for fun. A typical mehndi session lasts about an hour and costs less than a few dollars.
- Rickshaw Ride: If you’ve got some extra time and want to travel in local style—grab a ride in a rickshaw. Whether it’s a bicycle rickshaw or motor rickshaw, you will probably be one of the few passengers who’s glowing just because you’re traveling in one. No matter—just sit back and enjoy the ride.
- Teach a Class at Jiva Public School: The Jiva Public School is a K-12 Institution with over 1000 children that is just next to the Jiva Clinic. If you have a particular area of expertise—language, math, art, drama, public speaking, etc., and would to hold a class, we are happy to arrange sessions with our students. It is a great way to “give” while you are also “receiving”.
- Visit an Indian family: One of the best ways to experience the real India is by visiting an Indian family. We are happy to arrange tea or dinner at the home of a local family. Be sure to bring some pictures or regalia from home to share. Get ready to be doted on, made a fuss over, and asked lots of curious questions!
