Dr. Domingos Background
Born in March 13th, 1954, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, made the Middle and High School in Saint Ignacio Catholic School, R.J. Graduated in Medicine in Gama Filho University/RJ in 1977, made specialization in General Surgery in Ipanema General Hospital (Federal Hospital/RJ) under the guidance of Prof. Jose Hilario from 1976 to 1977 and specialization in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in Bonsucesso General Hospital (Federal Hospital/RJ) under the guidance of Dr. Sammy Passy, Dr’s Pitanguy first assistant, from 1978 to 1980.
Member of the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), Member of the Brazilian Medical Association, Titular Member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP), Member of the "International College of Surgeons" (Chicago, Illinois, USA), Member of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SBME), Member of the Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine (SBLMC) and of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), was since early specialized in Leprosy Reconstructive Surgery, working since 1979 in the Curupaiti State Hospital (a former leprosy-colony) as Head of the Plastic Surgery Service, from 1979 to 1988, when assumed the General Direction of the Institute. From May, 1988 to March, 1995 remained as General Director of the Hospital.
In the Federal Public Service is “staff” member of the Plastic Surgery Service of the State Servers Hospital (HSE/RJ) from 1980 until the present date. He was still Expert Doctor of the Health Ministry from 1995 to 2000.
Received, in 1981, the Heading of Meritorious of the Curupaiti Hospital, granted for the leprous community; in 1982 received an Honor’s Mention granted for the Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro; in 1988 received the Great Heading from Meritorious of the Curupaiti Hospital, granted for the leprous community and, in 1994 received the Tiradentes Medal from the State Legislature of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Congress).
Dr. Domingos Quintella De Paola has more than 40 (forty) published scientific papers and is author of the chapter "Drugs, Toxics and Pollutants" in the book "DISEASES BASIC MECHANISMS" (Ed.Atheneu, 1977).

Dr. Domingos Quintella De Paola still works in his four private Clinics (Center of Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation - C.C.P.R.), in Copacabana, Barra, Downtown Rio and Tijuca, where, since 1977 dedicates to Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, having, in 1996 done Specialization (Fellowship) in CO2 LASER Surgery in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Washington D.C., in U.S.A.
Currently is Orienting Officer of the Luxar Corporation/USA, in Brazil, International Consultant for Ethicon/USA and do Training Workshops of CO2 Laser Surgery and Threads Surgery all around the country, techniques he was pioneering in Brazil.
Married with Nélia Nahid de Carvalho De Paola, a District Attorney (Public Prosecutor) has two children, Domingos Neto, 15 years old and Diana, 13 years old.
