Airport and Travel
There are two possible airports (McAllen International is the best) that are convenient in which to fly and both are less than 30 minutes from the USA-Mexico international border. Multiple airline carriers offer service to McAllen International Airport and Harlingen Airport. The airport codes are (MFE) for McAllen International Airport and (HRL) for Harlingen Airport. Our patients prefer to fly into McAllen International Airport and we encourage you to also use this facility. Once you have a confirmed flight reservation, email the flight itinerary to omardgonz@gmail.com so that we are informed of your travel schedule.

Transportation
Nowadays we are providing the ground transportation from airport to your place to stay (La Sirena B&B); from there to our office in Mexico (a few feet from the Progreso International bridge) and back to La Sirena and also back to the airport so basically all your ground transportation is covered except any additional needs you might have.

Driving Directions
The following are directions, for those who are driving to IMC independently. Once crossing over the border on the Nuevo Progreso Bridge, look on the left for a large red building which houses the Dufry Duty Free store and in the next building south will be Dr. Omar Gonzalez’ office. CENTRO DE ESPECIALIDADES MEDICAS is read on top. Arturo's Parking Lot is on the left at the end of block and should cost about $10 to park. In the event there is traffic when you depart our office, a security guard at Arturo's lot will assist you in leaving.

Border Crossing
We expect you will find your Mexican neighbors to be very friendly and polite. A number of physicians' offices and businesses are supported by US citizens, so our friends to the south are accustomed and hospitable to those crossing the border to shop, dine or visit doctors. Our patients feel safe when traveling to this area of Mexico; however, take the normal travel precautions just as you would in state side travel. The address of the Center is located at the bottom of this information sheet. Your passport will be required to cross the border back to the USA. If you do not have a passport you can come back to USA with your birth certificate plus your driver’s license or a government issued ID. Kids under 18 only need to present a birth certificate. Let us know of any other questions you may have.

Allergies
Inform us of ANY allergies to medication you have in advance. The doctor will be injecting a numbing agent like Lidocaine plus epinephrine in the areas where you will be receiving implants or injections and might prescribe a prophylactic antibiotic (prevent infections) to be filled at a nearby Mexican pharmacy prior to your trip departure from Mexico. So if you are allergic to anything like this please, inform us ahead of time.

Procedure Fee & Payment
Integra Medical Center only accepts Bank Cashier's Checks, money transfer and of course, cash. Make out the acceptable form of check to Omar Gonzalez MD in the appropriate amount. A 3% international processing fee is added to any procedure fee charged on a Visa or MasterCard. The current fee for the Placenta/Stem Cell Therapy (PST) varies according to the protocol used.

Tax Deductibility

Integra Medical Center will provide you with a receipt for the cost of the medical procedure. You may consider consulting with your CPA regarding the possible tax deductibility of all travel, accommodation and medical related expenses. Dr Omar Gonzalez gives every patient a personal attention delivering the most adequate to your particular case medical procedure.. We look forward to a future report of wonderful results from your treatment.

Additional Information needed before and after the procedure:

• It is wise to dress comfortably the day of the procedure and a few days after it.
• Inform Dr Gonzalez if you have a contagious disease or if you have a blood disorder including the use of Coumadin and related medications.
• Have a light meal before the procedure and avoid extreme exercise for a week
• If you are in a weight lifting; swimming; Pilates; aerobics or physical therapy program it is recommended to wait for at least two weeks for you to start or resume your routine.
• You can expect some swelling, bruising, discomfort and sometimes some aseptic discharge in the area of the implants. That should diminish substantially in 7
  days. If you are sensitive to pain and would like some medication to manage it, please request it to Dr Gonzalez. In some cases a prophylactic antibiotic will be prescribed so if you are allergic to Keflex let us know since that is the most routinely prescribed medication.
• Keep the same bandages on the implants while they are dry in the inside for as long as possible (a week to 10 days). You can take showers but avoid swimming and bathtub use while the stitches are on.
• Non dissolvable stitches have to be removed according to Dr Omar's instructions, but normally it is about one week to 10 days after the procedure. Sometimes
  he uses dissolvable stitches where you don’t have to remove them and they fall after some time usually more than two weeks (if they bother they can also be removed after 10 days)
• The stem cells, growth factors and cytoquines are going to be reabsorbed gradually, so you are going to feel a lump under the skin of each implant that will be decreasing in size gradually within 3 or 4 months. The implant's site might be difficult to detect a few months after since the scar tissue is minimal.
• If you find you need to, you can call our office in the afternoon of the second day, and before you remove the stitches for any support and to monitor wound healing.
• Please keep a log of the way you are feeling right after the first day of the treatment. We tend to forget the way we were before and after the procedure. It is important for your own personal feedback and for the Center’s follow up information.

Be aware that you because of the positive effects of the treatment you just received, you might need to alter the doses of the medication you are currently taking, for example: insulin and other diabetics medications; blood pressure medication; tranquilizers; pain killers etc. So if you are experiencing some medication related adverse effects like hypoglycemia; low blood pressure etc. Let us or let your personal physician know so that an adjustment is done.

RECOMMENDED DIET
Dr Gonzalez recommends a healthy, organic, balanced diet before and after the treatment, specially:

• Low trans-fatty acids (TFA)diet.
• Low simple sugars (anything that tastes sweet) so most of the carbos's should come from starches and whole grains.
• 1.5 grams of proteins per kilo a day (two to three ounces of protein a day)from meat, fish or grains (lentils, beans etc.).
• Eat slowly, 4 to 5 times a day a high fiber diet.
• Drink natural juices specially Acai and berries, also Resveratrol rich juices.
• Nutritional advice to help reduce TFA intakes
• TFA-free diets are difficult to develop and maintain, as they may lead to undesirable effects such aSsmicronutrient deficiencies from removing foods such as some meats and dairy products from the diet.

Nutritionists, dietitians and health professionals recommend that consumers should reduce their TFA intake, while consuming a nutritionally adequate diet. What can consumers do? Some suggestions include:

• Use TFA-free margarine spreads, not butter
• Use low / reduced / modified fat milk, cheese, ice cream
• Have fish at least twice/week (but if pregnant, especially not predatory fish)
• Have meals based on vegetables, grains
• Limit take-away foods to less than once per week
• Limit snack foods, cakes, pastries, cholesterol-rich foods (egg yolks, offal).

Consumer education campaigns and food labels will be important tools to provide consumers with factual information on current levels of TFAs in foods, and how they can reduce their intake of TFAs.

What Can You Expect From This Therapy?

This diuretic effect is also seen in patients that have poor circulation with edema.

The color of the skin improves after two or three days and it becomes softer and moist after a month or so.

Why some people might be disappointed of the therapy?

The idea of this treatment is to slow down the aging process in our body. As you know, everybody has according to his or her genetic load, different ways of aging according to a weaker organ. For some people it is the eyes (macular degeneration), for some it is the brain cortex (dementia) or other parts of the brain (Parkinson’s). The initial consultation is the time when Dr. Gonzalez dedicates time to reviewing the clinical data and evaluating the patient in such a way to determine the plan for the best location of the implants. Also, it is the time when any patient's questions are clarified and most importantly, the patient's expectations are discussed. All possible outcomes of the treatment are explained.

The patient is then sent for the Electro Interstitial Scan evaluation as a point of reference and to see how the body is functioning bio-electrically.

After this evaluation, the patient goes to a procedure room where they are prepared for the most important part of the therapy: stem cell implantation. Under local anesthetic, several (between 4 to 6) mini-surgical incisions are performed where the implants are then placed.

The body's response to the IMC stem cell therapy and the healing power comes from:

I`m 51 years old. When I was 32 years (1988)old I was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome (Glomerulonephrytis Proliferating Type II with a Kidney biopsy). I was loosing a lot of protein in the urine. up to 7,000 mgs of protein in a 24 hrs collection. I was very sick with edema all over my body including my lungs. I took steroid  for years like 100 mgs a day. I have always been a fast paced individual with a varied background in management positions.  At the age of 35 I began having seizures.  I was referred to several facilities and was examined by numerous physicians and have spent many thousands of dollars trying to find a cause, none has ever been found.  In 1991 I had a stroke that left me quite limited in my mobility and very limited in my speech pattern. I was in this stage for approximately one and half years. I had to leave my position as Manager of a senior retirement resort, a job that I had held for four years. 

In 1993 my husband who had sever arthritis and was in extremely poor health, was referred to Dr. Omar Gonzalez for treatment with needles (acupuncture). After  a few treatments for my husband,  Dr. Gonzalez  became interested in my condition and asked to do a Placenta implant to see if  he could improve my condition.  I received my first implant and with-in a few days I was amazed at the improvement in my kidney function, my energy level soared, my speech pattern returned to normal with-in three weeks and with-in five weeks I had full mobility of my limbs.  With-in 6 weeks I went back to work full time at my old job, Manager of the senior resort where we reside.  I was later promoted to Regional Manager and had the responsibility of six Retirement resorts, which required me to be available seven days a week on call twenty four hours a day.

I had been treated for severe arthritis, prostrate and poor health for several years.  I was always given strong medication which either gave me little relief and kept my stomach upset.  I was also so tired and lifeless that I could only work for a couple of hours and have to rest and the pain was also a great handicap.  Patients of Dr. Gonzalez referred me to him to see if I could be helped.  I was treated with acupuncture for the arthritis and after three treatment I was able to lift my arms over my head which in its self was a miracle, I had not been able to lift my arm without severe pain in quite a long time.

My skin color was gray and pasty and I had problems with my kidneys.  Dr. Gonzalez counseled with me about the placenta implant procedure, he was confident that it would a very positive effect on my condition.  At this point in my life I had given up on any hope of a miracle that would improve my health and had resigned myself to being and old man in a rocking chair awaiting my expiration.

Border Crossing
We expect you will find your Mexican neighbors to be very friendly and polite. A number of physicians' offices and businesses are supported by US citizens, so our friends to the south are accustomed and hospitable to those crossing the border to shop, dine or visit doctors. Our patients feel safe when traveling to this area of Mexico; however, take the normal travel precautions just as you would in state side travel. The address of the Center is located at the bottom of this information sheet. Your passport will be required to cross the border back to the USA. If you do not have a passport you can come back to USA with your birth certificate plus your driver’s license or a government issued ID. Kids under 18 only need to present a birth certificate. Let us know of any other questions you may have.

Allergies
Inform us of ANY allergies to medication you have in advance. The doctor will be injecting a numbing agent like Lidocaine plus epinephrine in the areas where you will be receiving implants or injections and might prescribe a prophylactic antibiotic (prevent infections) to be filled at a nearby Mexican pharmacy prior to your trip departure from Mexico. So if you are allergic to anything like this please, inform us ahead of time.

Procedure Fee & Payment
Integra Medical Center only accepts Bank Cashier's Checks, money transfer and of course, cash. Make out the acceptable form of check to Omar Gonzalez MD in the appropriate amount. A 3% international processing fee is added to any procedure fee charged on a Visa or MasterCard. The current fee for the Placenta/Stem Cell Therapy (PST) varies according to the protocol used.

Tax Deductibility

Integra Medical Center will provide you with a receipt for the cost of the medical procedure. You may consider consulting with your CPA regarding the possible tax deductibility of all travel, accommodation and medical related expenses. Dr Omar Gonzalez gives every patient a personal attention delivering the most adequate to your particular case medical procedure.. We look forward to a future report of wonderful results from your treatment.

Additional Information needed before and after the procedure:

• It is wise to dress comfortably the day of the procedure and a few days after it.
• Inform Dr Gonzalez if you have a contagious disease or if you have a blood disorder including the use of Coumadin and related medications.
• Have a light meal before the procedure and avoid extreme exercise for a week
• If you are in a weight lifting; swimming; Pilates; aerobics or physical therapy program it is recommended to wait for at least two weeks for you to start or resume your routine.
• You can expect some swelling, bruising, discomfort and sometimes some aseptic discharge in the area of the implants. That should diminish substantially in 7
  days. If you are sensitive to pain and would like some medication to manage it, please request it to Dr Gonzalez. In some cases a prophylactic antibiotic will be prescribed so if you are allergic to Keflex let us know since that is the most routinely prescribed medication.
• Keep the same bandages on the implants while they are dry in the inside for as long as possible (a week to 10 days). You can take showers but avoid swimming and bathtub use while the stitches are on.
• Non dissolvable stitches have to be removed according to Dr Omar's instructions, but normally it is about one week to 10 days after the procedure. Sometimes
  he uses dissolvable stitches where you don’t have to remove them and they fall after some time usually more than two weeks (if they bother they can also be removed after 10 days)
• The stem cells, growth factors and cytoquines are going to be reabsorbed gradually, so you are going to feel a lump under the skin of each implant that will be decreasing in size gradually within 3 or 4 months. The implant's site might be difficult to detect a few months after since the scar tissue is minimal.
• If you find you need to, you can call our office in the afternoon of the second day, and before you remove the stitches for any support and to monitor wound healing.
• Please keep a log of the way you are feeling right after the first day of the treatment. We tend to forget the way we were before and after the procedure. It is important for your own personal feedback and for the Center’s follow up information.

Be aware that you because of the positive effects of the treatment you just received, you might need to alter the doses of the medication you are currently taking, for example: insulin and other diabetics medications; blood pressure medication; tranquilizers; pain killers etc. So if you are experiencing some medication related adverse effects like hypoglycemia; low blood pressure etc. Let us or let your personal physician know so that an adjustment is done.

RECOMMENDED DIET
Dr Gonzalez recommends a healthy, organic, balanced diet before and after the treatment, specially:

• Low trans-fatty acids (TFA)diet.
• Low simple sugars (anything that tastes sweet) so most of the carbos's should come from starches and whole grains.
• 1.5 grams of proteins per kilo a day (two to three ounces of protein a day)from meat, fish or grains (lentils, beans etc.).
• Eat slowly, 4 to 5 times a day a high fiber diet.
• Drink natural juices specially Acai and berries, also Resveratrol rich juices.
• Nutritional advice to help reduce TFA intakes
• TFA-free diets are difficult to develop and maintain, as they may lead to undesirable effects such aSsmicronutrient deficiencies from removing foods such as some meats and dairy products from the diet.

Nutritionists, dietitians and health professionals recommend that consumers should reduce their TFA intake, while consuming a nutritionally adequate diet. What can consumers do? Some suggestions include:

• Use TFA-free margarine spreads, not butter
• Use low / reduced / modified fat milk, cheese, ice cream
• Have fish at least twice/week (but if pregnant, especially not predatory fish)
• Have meals based on vegetables, grains
• Limit take-away foods to less than once per week
• Limit snack foods, cakes, pastries, cholesterol-rich foods (egg yolks, offal).

Consumer education campaigns and food labels will be important tools to provide consumers with factual information on current levels of TFAs in foods, and how they can reduce their intake of TFAs.
