Treatment Facilities

Health Resort Ustro? is one of the biggest health resort complexes in Europe. Its rehabilitation traditions date back to the eighteenth century. The first spa with therapeutic baths was created in 1804.

The mineral waters here have been used for medicinal baths but had to be diluted due to their high mineral content. However, swimming was and still is recommended to help in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lower limb ischemic conditions and diseases of the respiratory tract.

Conditions for which the therapeutic mud deposits in Ustron are effective in include:

Cardiology Rehabilitation Program

This program is the most advanced in Poland and it was specially created for people with cardiovascular diseases or those who present a high risk in developing this diseases.

The therapy's unique aproach model is based on each patient’s diagnosis, physical ability and level of risk of occurrence of undesirable events with prognosis and evaluation in each step of the process.

The program is specially made for people who are recovering from:

• heart attack
• coronary arteriography bridge implants (CABG)
• coronary artery angioplasty (PTCA, stents)
• heart valve replacement or valvuoplasty
• rhythm cardioverter – defibrillator implants
• sufferers of hypertension
• sufferers of circulatory failure
• sufferers of arrhythmia

 

Locomotor System Rehabilitation Program

The rehabilitation of the locomotor system is designed for people suffering from chronic inflammation and osteoarthritis or following injury and surgical procedure. The program is to ameliorate pain and discomfort, improvement of physical condition, improvement of movement range and decrease of the amount of medicine being taken.

Oncology Rehabilitation Program

The Oncological program is created to ensure continuity of therapy for cancer patients following surgical procedure, chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Our program was first in that kind in Poland. We constantly develop our program in cooperation with breast cancer peer-support organizations and Polish and European oncology clinics. Due to our competence we organize annual academic symposium on oncology and lymphology rehabilitation

The main goal is to improve quality of life following their return home and into their own environment, restoration of psychophysical capabilities, assistance in adapting to new living conditions. The program includes psychotherapy according to C. Simonton and acquaintance with the fundamentals of anti-cancer prophylaxis.

The program is designed for:

• women after breast cancer treatment, after treatment of gynecological cancer

• all patients with primary and secondary lymphedema

Neurological Rehabilitation Program

Neurological Rehabilitation Program is designed for people recovering from a stroke. It is recommended for patients about 3-8 weeks after the incident or after ENR (early neurological rehabilitation) as a continuation of the rehabilitation. The aim is to regaining lost motor functions and increasing functional independence in all aspects of daily life, in particular after the patient’s return home.

Uzdrowisko Ustro? Health Resort Destination

Excellent location, picturesque landscapes, sunny slopes, healthy mountain air provide perfect conditions for rest and recovery. The enchanting valley of Polish largest river Vistula and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain peaks significantly increase resort advantages, which in addition to numerous hiking trails, cycling and skiing, offers many activities at any time of the year.

Forest Park (Ustro?)- This unconventional zoo allows communing with nature and wildlife in natural conditions. One of the biggest attractions of the park are Falconry station and Owlery, where you can watch birds of prey and owls during their flights.

Funicular Czantoria (Ustro?) - The most modern funicular in the Beskid Mountains with many additional attractions at the top of the Czantoria Mountain.

Rope Park at the top of a Równica Mountain (Ustro?) - a high-altitude obstacle course consisting of five routes with a total length of over 1 km and 68 obstacles.

Park of moving dinosaurs and insects (Ustro?) - The main attraction of the park are moving dinosaur exhibits and insecticides. Visitors will be able to get close to life-size prehistoric reptiles and listen to the terrifying sounds.

Vintage Motorcycle Museum (Ustro?) - a unique collection of about 70 motorcycles from the years 1910 to 1945 and more…

Adam Malysz Ski Jump (Wis?a - 15 km) - the ski jump at the point K 120 and size 134 m, one of the two big jumps in Poland.

Cieszyn (15 km) - one of the oldest towns in Silesia, located at the border between Poland and the Czech Republic, an important cultural, administrative and educational center with a very rich history.

Krakow (140 km) - former Polish capital, one of the oldest Polish cities with a very rich history, with many priceless architectural and cultural monuments.
