Welcome to Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Western Regional Medical Center

Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Cancer Treatment Centers of America® at Western Regional Medical Center is part of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Group (CTCA) and it is located in Goodyear, Arizona, just 25 miles from Phoenix. The center takes pride in its dedicated and experienced  cancer experts and serves the Western United States, including the major metropolitan areas of Phoenix, Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Albuquerque.

CTCA® was founded in 1988 by Richard J Stephenson, in honor of his mother, who lost her battle with cancer in 1982. This is the reason why he wanted to create a better experience for patients suffering from cancer and help them participate in their treatment. The Mother Standard®, which is the organization's guiding principle, reflects the CTCA employees vision on how they would want their mothers, fathers, brothers or sisters to be treated if they had cancer.

Construction of Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Western Regional Medical Center started in October 2007 and the decision to build a new cancer facility in Arizona originated from the hospital's patients' requests to build CTCA hospitals closer to their homes. Since breaking ground, CTCA patients and their families have been actively involved in every step of the hospital design process, resulting functional design elements that are most conducive to healing and wellness.

About 300 cancer survivors gathered on March 2, 2008 from around the state to sign the Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Western Regional Medical Center commemorative steel beam, called the "Beam of Hope," at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. After the signing, the beam, which signifies the beginnings of a hope-filled and empowering environment for cancer patients and families at Western, was taken back to the hospital construction site, where it was placed on the building.
