AESTHETIC AND PLASTIC:
Breast Augmentation: A breast augmentation involves the surgical insertion of an implant to create the illusion of larger or fuller breasts.
Liposuction: Surgery to remove fat from the body. For women, choose from any of these parts: the waistline, the hips, the legs and the lower arms, the love handles, the buttocks, knees or ankles.
Brow lift: A brow lift removes forehead wrinkles and raises eyebrows to give an alert and energetic appearance.
Cheek implants: Cheek implants give enhancement and projection to the face.
Chin augmentation: Chin augmentation correct a receding chin and at the same time giving the face a fresher, younger appearance.
Face lift: Cosmetic surgery that removes excess skin and/or tightens tissues to gain a youthful appearance.
Neck lift: A rejuvenating procedure that alters neck muscles, fat or skin to enhance its look while giving a clean jaw line.
Rhinoplasty: A surgical procedure usually done to improve function and/or appearance of the nose.
Tummy Tuck: A tummy tuck tightens the abdominal muscles of a person's body and gets rid of excess skin and/or fat, making the abdomen firm with great results
ORTHOPEDIC:
Hip resurfacing: Hip resurfacing replaces the arthritic surface of the joint but removes far less bone than the traditional total hip replacement.
Knee replacement: In knee replacement, damaged bones and cartilage are replaced with man-made surface of metal and plastic, relieving pain.
ACL repair: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction allows near-normal knee function and returns a high level of athletic capacity.
PCL repair: This is surgery to repair the posterior cruciate ligament, the ligament that controls backward movement of the shin bone.
Arthroscopic knee surgery: Meniscus repair includes using arthroscopically placed tacks or suturing the torn edges of the meniscus tear.
Shoulder Surgery, rotator cuff tightening: Most often rotator cuff tears, surgery involves repairing the torn tendons based on the patient's symptoms.
DENTAL:
Oral Surgeries:
Dental implants: Dental implants, one of the best options for replacing missing teeth, have several types designed to hold an artificial tooth or bridge in place.
Root Canals & Crowns: A crown or cap protects the entire tooth from breaking. It is placed on top of a tooth usually after a root canal operation.
Cosmetic Dental:
Dentures & Bridges: A bridge uses two crowns to suspend an artificial tooth, or a set of dentures, to replace a missing one.
Teeth Whitening: Whitening teeth up to two or three shades is possible with laser treatment, a procedure also opted by people sensitive to bleach
Veneers & Bonding: Veneers are a layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect a damaged tooth surface, resulting in whiter teeth.
FERTILITY
Treatment programmes offered:
Ovulation induction and timed intercourse: Many women do not ovulate and therefore need medical treatment to stimulate ovulation. The most common cause of this is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Medications are given to stimulate the growth of eggs (oocytes)
Artificial insemination Artificial Insemination is an easy procedure, which is done in the examination room of the doctor; it feels like a PAP smear. It is a non-invasive and non-expensive procedure with a good success rate. The partner brings in a sperm sample. The laboratory needs 2 hours to improve the sperm sample. The procedure itself is usually done in the late morning. A tiny flexible plastic tube is inserted into the uterine cavity. In Vitro Fertilization: In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a procedure where eggs are extracted and fertilized in the laboratory. This is also called a "test-tube baby".
(ICSI) Intra cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a type of IVF (see section on IVF). This is a procedure used in specific circumstances during in vitro fertilization.
GIFT and ZIFT These procedures are not used very much today, because conventional IVF / ICSI is a better and less invasive procedure. The main reason that they are performed is because of difficulty in transferring embryos via the cervix in conventional IVF. These procedures require a general anaesthetic and a laparoscopy operation in order to visualize the fallopian tubes.
GIFT (Gamete Intra Fallopian Tube transfer).The eggs are collected vaginally via ultrasound and then transferred together with a sperm sample into the fallopian tube.
ZIFT (Zygote Intra Fallopian Tube transfer).The eggs are collected vaginally via ultrasound and fertilized in the laboratory. The embryos are then transferred 2 days later into the fallopian tube.
PGD Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis is an exciting new development which allows genetic evaluation of the embryo to be performed. Cells can be taken from the developing embryo on the 3rd day after fertilization and analysed to assess the karyotype or chromosome number.
Assisted Hatching AH is a procedure performed prior to transfer in selected cases. An embryo needs to escape or "hatch" from its protein shell, called the Zona Pellucida, before it can implant in the uterus. In AH, a chemical or a laser can be used to dissolve part of the zona, to facilitate the hatching process later. This technique is often used with prior failed IVF cycles, female age over 38, and with abnormally thick zonae
ELECTIVE
Gastric Bypass: A Gastric Bypass is the removal of a portion of the stomach and bypassing the small intestine; it is intended to aid in weight loss for obese patients.
Mini Gastric Bypass: A Mini-Gastric Bypass surgery is now more preferred over the traditional surgery because of it is less invasive nature.
Intragastic Balloon: An intragastric balloon is a silicone ball that is placed in the stomach to help the patient feel full easier for significant weight loss.
