Stem Cell Treatment for Traumatic Brain Injury in Ukraine

Pre-therapy: history of traumatic brain injury due to the accident. Patient is alert. Very limited range of motions in the extremities. Marked spasticity in the left arm. Cannot talk and eat unassisted, but can swallow food. Under rehabilitation therapy.
Neurological update two months after the first stem cell treatment:
Intellectually, more alert.
Cranial Nerves: F. can move his tongue outside the mouth and sideways. He has a better control of the neck muscles, turn his head better to one side (sn>dx) and is able to hold his head still for a few seconds.
Trunk: F. is able to sit up supported and occasionally holds his trunk almost straight for a few seconds.
Limbs: Voluntary movement of the proximal part of the left upper arm (limb abduction) and some movements of the fingers (he is able to press a button with the thumb once or as many times as he wants voluntarily). Better control of the left leg which can be held against gravity for a few seconds and moved sideways (leg abduction). Some voluntary movements are now possible with the right arm: arm rotation and occasionally elbow flexion. Once or twice isometric contraction of the right thigh muscles has been observed. Muscle tone is increased in the right upper and lower limb.
No gross variation has been observed on the frequency of involuntary movements (clonus or spastic contraction) and on urinary function.
In summary, there has been a global improvement in motor function.
