Implants

What does it consist of?
 
The titanium dental implant replaces the missing tooth and its corresponding root.
They are placed using a simple surgical procedure, as access to the bone is gained through a small incision and proceeds to prepare a new socket in the jaw where the implant is inserted as a screw. Then an Osseointegration process is carried out that can last from 4 to 6 months. In some cases the crown may be placed immediately, this will depend on the location, type of occlusion, bone quality, etc.. This is called "immediate implant".

After placement of an implant, patients often report discomfort and usually have been pre-medicated with antibiotics, analgesics and anti-inflammatories.

What does it consist of?

The metal-ceramic crowns allow the dentist restore missing or severely damaged teeth  in form and function, aesthetic characteristics and with resistance very similar to natural teeth. The restoration technique with metal-ceramic crowns has been used for over sixty years and the development of materials has allowed the realization of successful restorations for over ten years in patients. Restorations are fixed and require the selection of the metal to be used and the preparation by qualified personnel so they typically require several appointments for final cementation in the patient.

Whitening is a clearance process that takes place on the teeth for aesthetic purposes. It is obtained by applying peroxides on the tooth surface when there is pigmentation due to dark substances that stain the teeth, or normal wear which occurs over time.

The porcelain veneer is a ceramic armor plate on which is placed in the front and incisor part of the tooth to improve aesthetics in terms of size, color and shape.

Root Canal, Periodontics and Surgery

What does it consist of?

Oral hygiene is the teaching of the set of best practices for maintaining oral health such as brushing teeth and using dental floss.

Prophylaxis is a procedure that removes plaque and dental stains.

 

What does it consist of?

This is cleaning the root surfaces of teeth under anesthesia that involves surgery. They are procedures that handle hard and soft tissues to correct defects caused by periodontal disease. It covers all the problems of the gums and bone supporting the teeth.

 

 

 

What does it consist of?

It is that which presents some difficulty extracting and which converts a conventional extraction into one with demand in a special media, technicians and pharmacologists. In this surgery the teeth are removed from their sockets.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery - Stomatology

What does it consist of?
 
Orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery) treats and corrects abnormalities of the facial bones, especially in the maxilla and mandible. Typically, these facial anomalies are accompanied by difficulty in chewing, talking or sleeping, among other routine activities. Orthognathic surgery corrects these problems, and along with orthodontic treatment greatly improves the facial and masticatory function.

Today, new advances in orthognathic surgery, such as titanium plates and screws, provide better stability and predictability in these treatments. They also reduce recovery time after surgery.

 

What does it consist of?
 
It is the increase in volume in the cheek region which favors a more youthful appearance by allowing soft tissue to raise the center of the face. This is achieved through the application of an implant which comes in different shapes and sizes according to the needs of each patient.

The surgery is done orally under local anesthesia. Implants generate permenant changes and can be placed in one or more areas of the face. This procedure has the advantage of being reversible, ie if the patient for some medical or aesthetic  reason wants to return to its previous aspect, the implant can be withdrawn by the same route. The procedure takes 1 to 2 hours and produces inflammation that decreases from the second week.
 

Pediatric Dentistry

What does it consist of?

Fluoride is an element that has a very beneficial effect on teeth, contributes to the remineralization of the tooth when it has begun a process of decay. it aslo has antibacterial action as it attacks the bacteria that colonize the tooth surface. Its biggest benefit is in children because their teeth are still forming .This element helps minimize certain problems, specifically tooth decay in the roots exposed by gum recession.

Fluoride can be applied at the dentist office in different gel forms, varnishes or liquid solutions.  There are many preparations of fluoride used outside the dental office and other products that incorporate fluorine in the formula such as toothpastes, mouthwashes and others.

Executive Checkup

What does it consist of?

The executive dental checkup is a regular oral health status assessment of each person in order to maintain an excellent state of health.

Currently it is suggested that high levels of stress and responsibility that people are under, affect the state of oral health can affect to a greater percentage generating discomfort and even the appearance of some signs or symptoms that are the beginning of disease. It is important in the oral cavity to start early treatment so as to avoid complications at a later date.

For this reason the executive check becomes a preventive program that periodically assesses the oral health condition of each person."
