Fortis Noida launches a Liver Transplant Programme under Dr. Vivek Vij. Dr Vij will head the ambitious Liver Transplant Program and G I Surgery at Noida.

Dr. Vivek Vij completed his M.B.B.S. from B.J Medical college, Pune and M.S. from Govt. Medical College & Rajendra Hospital Patiala, in 1997 and 2001 respectively. He completed his DNB in 2003 and went on to complete MRCS (Ed.) from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in March 2003.

He has performed more than 350 liver transplants as one of the chief surgeons with minimum complications. This includes both deceased donor and living donor liver transplants including pediatric transplants. As one of the pioneers in India for Liver transplant he has performed combined liver kidney and dual transplants as one of the firsts in India.

He was the only candidate to be selected from India for year 2006, Roche-Preceptorship training program in liver transplantation” held at University of Alabama, Birmingham, USA.

He is a member of the prestigious International Hepato-Panreato-Biliary association (IHPBA), one of the leading international associations of HPB and transplant surgeons and a member of International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS).

He has been a member of Liver Transplant team at Sir Gangaram Hospital and a founding member of the Liver Transplant Program of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital before joining Fortis Hospital.
