Is a new procedure that induces weight loss by restricting food. With this procedure, the surgeon removes approximately 70 percent of the stomach (MIS). This is the simplest & safest weight-loss surgery; it's also permanent reducing the risk of regaining the weight.

Gastric Sleeve-Plication

Gastric Sleeve-Plication

Well known as the most exciting advancement in weight loss surgery since adjustable gastric banding.
 
Weight loss results similar to gastric bypass with no reports of complications. The procedure, best understood as an evolution of the more familiar sleeve gastrectomy.

Advantages & Benefits:

• It's a minimally invasive procedure. Only 3 nights total hospital stay.
• No loss of stomach tissue, the ‘sleeve’ is created by suturing rather than removal (preserving nutrient absorption capability)
• No devices – no staples, no bands, no fills.
• Reduced risk of early or late complications.
• Does not impair patient dietary habits.
• Early data (patients at 6-12 months post procedure) indicate resultant weight loss is comparable to sleeve gastrectomy with results between 6 and 12 months after surgery.

Sleeve Gastrectomy

Sleeve Gastrectomy is a new surgery that induces weight loss by restricting food intake.

It removes approximately 70 percent of the stomach laparoscopically. Stomach volume is reduced, but it continues to function normally so most food items can be consumed in small amounts.

SG removes the portion of the stomach that produces the hormones that stimulates hunger (Ghrelin). Because Ghrelin, the hormone that is responsible for making you feel hungry is made in your stomach, you will feel significantly less hungry after the surgery. No other surgery can do this.

Advantages & Benefits:

• This is the simplest, least invasive weight-loss surgery available.
• It is permanent, so it reduces the risk of regaining the weight.
• It’s success and safety.
• It's much more effective than the Lap-Band, and equally or more effective than the Gastric Bypass (RNY).
• Lose of 60 to 100% of their excess body weight over a 12 – 18th month period with the sleeve gastrectomy.
• Minimizes the chance of an ulcer occurring.
• By avoiding the intestinal bypass, the chance of intestinal obstruction (blockage), anemia, osteoporosis, protein deficiency and vitamin deficiency are almost eliminated.
• Very effective as a first stage procedure for high BMI patients (BMI >55 kg/m2).

Appealing option for people with existing anemia, Crohn’s disease and numerous other conditions that make them too high risk for intestinal bypass procedures.
