About - Dr. Rudolf Weiner
Prof. Dr. med. Rudolf Weiner is an internationally well-known specialist for surgery of obesity (bariatric surgery) and metabolic disorders. He is founder of the German Society for Bariatric Surgery. As a president of European Chapter of IFSO and president of the International World Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders he performed surgeries in all continents and more than 50 countries.
Prof. Weiner has more than 35 years of experience in the specialty of Bariatric surgery and is experienced in all modern and advanced techniques in the field, including endoscopic procedures. Beside his leading position as Head of the Department of Adipositas and Metabolic surgery, he is appointed as Chair of European Accreditation Program Center of Excellence (COE) program, member of the editorial board and associate co-editor of all leading journals in this field. As honored member of Intermed-Consult’s Medical Scientific Advisory Board, Prof. Weiner covers the medical field of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (Diabetes Surgery).
