Ukraine's first clinic, formally applying stem cells for treatment.
Institute of Cellular Therapy, scientific-research, specialized medical-diagnostic facility that became the base for clinic, was founded several years ago in Kiev. Specialists of the Institute of Cellular Therapy developed and introduced into medical practice the newest scientific achievements in the area of cell technologies, cryomedicine and non-medicinal methods of treatment. Institute of Cell therapy is one of the few medical centers in Ukraine dealing with stem cell therapy formally. Our institute was the first who obtained the right to conduct clinical trials in the use of stem cells in Ukraine (Order МZ of Ukraine №630 "About carrying out clinical trials of stem cells", 2008).

A distinctive feature of our clinic is its own cryobank.
First Cryobank of stem cells of umbilical cord blood was founded in Kiev in 2003 on the base of the Institute of Cellular Therapy. Ukrainian scientists, that have been studying stem cells for the decades have accumulated significant clinical experience in its application, and they were one of the first pioneers in the world who created high quality technology of stem cells preservation. Galina Lobyntseva, candidate of biological sciences, one of the leading specialists in this area, the world-famed scientist, was awarded with State Prize for the development of stem cells cryoconservation methods for clinical application back in 1991. Nowadays she leads the First in the state Cryobank of the Institute of Cellular Therapy.

Today Cryobank - a unique complex of more than 500 square meters, not having analogues in the countries of the former USSR, including: sterile boxes for selection of stem cells, the PCR laboratory, a laboratory for culturing cells, a laboratory for isolation and cryopreservation of placental tissue, coldstore, offices of scientists.

Cryobank first cord blood stem cells is a member of International Society for Cellular Therapy (ISCT), which allows the use of stored samples of stem cells in any specialized clinic in Europe, America, etc.
