RECONSTRUCTION PROCEDURES
Unilateral/Bilateral Cleft Lip and Nose/Cleft Palate
Cleft lip and cleft palate are congenital deformities caused by abnormal facial development. This condition occurs in 1 out of 1500 babies here in the Philippines, making it one of the most common birth defects in our country.
Fortunately, clefting is highly treatable; with professional help, reconstructive procedure can be done within 45 minutes, leaving patients to achieve a normal lip and nose after recovery. Our plastic surgeons are highly proficient in this reconstructive technique, which can permanently remove the burden that comes from having this unfortunate deformity.Traumatic Injuries/Scars
Traumatic injuries are physical wounds or shocks that come from external sources, as opposed to illnesses or diseases that grow from and thrive within the body. When injuries are serious, they normally leave lasting scars that are impossible to remove permanently.
However, various techniques can be applied to make them less noticeable. Our team has the expertise to make traumatic injuries/scars look like they aren't even there! Burn Injuries
A burn is an injury that occurs when the skin gets too much exposure and/or comes into direct contact with sources like heat, electricity, chemicals, light, radiation and friction. Normally, burns only affect the skin, with only the worst types of burns affecting deeper tissues like muscles, bones and blood vessels.
It is very important to manage burns as they cause grave pain, and can even result to permanent disfigurement and scarring. With our reconstructive offerings, we can help you manage and conceal your burn injuries.
Contracture Surgery
Scar Revision
This is a surgical procedure that aims to improve or reduce the appearance of scars, which can result from injuries wounds, or even previous surgery. Depending on the extent and amount of scars, treatment applied on the affected/disfigured area can restore its function and correct its appearance. The extent and amount of scarring is normally determined by factors like wound size, depth and location, as well as the person's heredity.
Keloid/Hypertrophic Scar Treatment
A keloid is a type of scar that develops some time after an injury. Unlike most scars, keloids do not subside over time and tend to spread to areas beyond the original wound site. It is irregularly shaped and usually has a smooth top and a pinkish to purple color.
Hypertrophic scars are normally mistaken as keloids, since they look similar-swollen, puffy and reddened scars that stand out from the surrounding skin. Unlike keloids though, these scars are confined to the wound site and can naturally subside after a long period.
Skin and Soft Tissue Tumors
Tumors are formed when neoplasm, a group of abnormal cells, forms a lump. These lumps are often benign and cause no real harm or danger, except aesthetically if they are located in areas that are open to casual view. Malignant tumors are called sarcomas, and they are far outnumbered by harmless benign tumors. When these malignant tumors develop on the skin, they cause skin cancer.
Tumor development on the epidermis can be removed to even out the surrounding skin. While there is a risk of scarring, this can be addressed by various scar treatments to make the surgical scar as unnoticeable as possible.
Soft Tissue Defect Closure
This technique involves the usage of flaps to cover and seal various soft tissue defects that may have resulted from recent trauma or chronic lesions.
Hand Surgery (Contracture, Soft Tissue Defect, Tendon Grafting and Repair)
Hand surgery involves both surgical and non-surgical treatments for various hand or upper extremity related conditions and problems. It can be performed to correct physical deformities for aesthetic reasons, as well as improve the hand's strength and functionality. The variety of surgical operations includes procedures like fracture repairs, injury reconstruction, tendon transfer and repair, and more. Microsurgical treatment may also be done to reattach amputated digits and limbs, reconstruct soft tissues, bones and nerves, and improve the function of paralyzed upper limbs.
Benign/Malignant Facial, Breast or soft tissue
Congenital/Birth Defects
Congenital disorders, or birth defects, involve abnormalities or defects that formed during the development of a fetus. These abnormalities on the structure, function, or body metabolism can lead to mental or physical disabilities, or even mortality among infants. Birth defects are caused by many factors, among them are genetic, environmental, or unknown ones. We perform a number of treatments to certain known curable congenital disorders.
Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is normally performed on women who have undergone mastectomy, or the surgical removal of one or both breasts as part of treatment for breast cancer. It involves the implantation of prosthetic material and autologous tissue from the individual's belly, back or buttocks to form mounds on the chest to replace the original breasts. Breast reconstruction normally takes more than one surgery, and extra steps may include adding areola or nipple, reshaping or resizing the reconstructed breast and operating on the opposite breast for a better match with the reconstructed one. Minus the sensation, the results show very natural-looking breasts.
Skin Grafting (for large defects and tumors)
A type of medical grafting, skin grafting involves the transplantation of a skin graft on an area of the body's skin that has been badly injured by extensive wounding or trauma, burns, extensive skin loss due to certain infections, and even specific types of surgeries. A skin graft is a patch of skin that has been surgically removed from one area of the body, called the donor section, to be transplanted onto another area that needs it. Doing this serves the purpose of a faster recovery process and improved function and appearance of the injured area.
Two types of skin grafts may be used: one is the more common type involving the removal of a thin layer of skin from the donor section, and the other one is the more risky type involving cutting the whole skin away for a full thickness graft.
Benign and Malignant Nevus Excision
Nevus excisions or mole excisions can be performed for both medical and aesthetic purposes. Moles that area benign can easily be removed within minutes, but excised moles need to be examined for any possibility of malignancy.
Closure of Large Scalp Defects
Scalp defects can result from a number of cases including traumatisms, tumor resection surgery, burns and infections, and necrosis or premature death of cells and living tissues from too much exposure to radiotherapy. Unlike soft tissue defects on the neck or head, scalp defects are more complicated to treat. The repair is based on the location, size and depth of the defect, and the flaps to be used must be designed to preserve the original hairline, allow acceptable redirection of hair follicles, and enable wound closure without excessive tension. The flaps may require skin grafts.
Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Management
Traumas are grave injuries that can cause permanent physical alteration on the affected part of the body. Treatment of trauma includes gradual therapy to improve or recover the function of the injured area. We have facilities to accommodate and provide critical care to victims of serious traumatisms.

Botox is a protein complex derived from a type of bacteria called Clostridium Botulinum, which, when injected to the muscle, blocks transmission between the nerve endings and muscle fibers on the injection site, thus rendering muscles that are responsible for forming wrinkles and frown lines paralyzed.
IV Glutathione
Formally known as Intravenous Glutathione, this involves the direct injection of Glutathione through the veins, a procedure proven by experts to be the single most effective way of increasing Glutathione levels. Glutathione is one of the most powerful antioxidants found in the human body, and is responsible for strengthening our immune system as well as protecting our bodies' tissues and organs from harmful free radicals.
