I fly in from Canada to have all my work done with Dr. Andres Pacheco. This year alone, I’ve had a root canal and two crowns done. As far as I’m concerned, there is no better dentist in Cuenca. An absolutely amazing dentist who works with wonderful people. If I could award ten stars, I would! -

Amazing practice for us North Americans that are sick of paying too much money and being told we need many procedures. Ana, the receptionist/scheduler/concierge, was very accommodating of when I would be in Cuenca and was able to squeeze me in before I left. Dr. P was very kind and spoke excellent English. The practice offered me a free consultation and I was expecting to need to schedule follow-up for some small cavities. After speaking with Dr. P he was confident that the procedures weren’t as urgent as the stateside dentist would suggest. While I’m sure he would have no problem performing the work and collecting payment, he was honest in saying the cavity was so small and the drill hole would be so big it just wasn’t worth it just yet. I appreciated how candid he was. The team even helped me navigate some outstanding radiology I needed done for a surgery unrelated to dental. I had a great experience and won’t hesitate to consider Dr. P if I am ever encountering any discomfort. Thanks Find Health team!

I had received a quote in the U.S. for an single implant and reusing half of my old 4 tooth bridge from an accident when I was a teenager. The bridge was over 25 years old. The solution recommended would have also had another tooth cantilevered off of the implant because they did not think they could put an implant where one tooth had been missing all of this time.
I met with Dr. Pacheco and after getting a full tomographical x-ray (something that I was never offered at home) he provided 3 options.
1. He could do two implants and two new crowns for the teeth that were still partially there. As he put it "Why would you buy a new left shoe and keep the old right one"?
2. He also offered to keep the old teeth if I wanted to, but the cost difference in Ecuador would not have been worth it.
3. He also offered just replacing the bridge with a 5 tooth bridge and removing the tooth that had decayed under the old bridge.
This was a lower cost than the implants, but since the last bridge lasted over 25 years, why not?
I ended up getting the new bridge and could not be happier. It was less invasive, I have nice looking new teeth and the offending tooth that led to the need for a replacement is gone.
Any of the options he presented would have been a great savings and even the most expensive option would have been around $13K less than if I had the work done in the U.S.
I think it is fair to warn you though, if you are expecting the same type of ambiance that you get in the dentist office at home, you will be disappointed. I will admit that I was leery when I walked in.
The office does not match the pictures I found online. They were carefully taken at good angles, much like when I sold my last house.
There is not a dedicated waiting room for the dental office or separate rooms for the dental chairs.
When you get in the office you will find a small desk by the door and a couple of cubicle style half walls as partitions between the dental chairs.
if you do not speak Spanish you may have a bit of a challenge even finding your way to Dr. Pachecos office, but stick it out, its worth it.
One thing that he did have that is not always common in Ecuador, as I found out later, was an assistant to hand tools and hold the vacuum. Apparently at some dental offices in Ecuador, you need to do the suction yourself.
Although I would not say Dr. Pacheco speaks English like a native speaker I had no problem understanding or communicating with him at all. This was a priority for me because I think good communication is vital for any kind of health care and he was excellent at communicating clearly.
I never met Adam, the Administrator and Patient Coordinator, in person. But he was very good with communicating via email and always gave me a quick response from my first contact with them until I received a copy of my X-Rays.
Overall, if you need good dental work done at a more than reasonable price I would recommend Find Health in Ecuador. -

Dr. Pacheco is a skilled and professional dentist. I appreciate his time and ability to answer all of my questions as well as offer his advice. He did not suggest thousands of dollars worth of work but was practical and forthcoming about my dental options. I see why he is called Dr. No Pain, it is because of his expertise. So pleased; thank you sooo much Dr. Pacheco!

I was seen quickly. The doctors and much of the staff speak English proficiently. Prices are much better than in the States. The work that I needed was done quickly and without pain. When I had a minor problem with a partial I was again seen quickly and the problem was addressed appropriately. Thank you !

Just had an awesome ultrasound teeth cleaning by Dr Pacheco hygienist. Zero discomfort and incredibly clean teeth. Dr Pacheco checked my teeth and his very thorough recommendations made perfect sense. No pressure. He said let him know what I decide.

Like many I have an irrational fear of Dentists. I was amazed when I went to Find Health in Ecuador how caring they were. Dr. Pacheco was wonderful as was his staff. He check my teeth and addressed the problem I had come to see him about toothache and determined I needed a root canal. No worry at all he was so reassuring I had no trepidation at all. There was no pain and an excellent result. In fact, they took off my old crown to access the roots and were able to reuse the crown. Astonishing . The cost of treatment was so reasonable as well. I recommend Find Health in Ecuador 100%.

The Doctor and Staff were focused on making everything the best it could be. Coming from a country where the processes are different and not speaking the language here, I still ended up with outstanding dentistry.

Find Health in Ecuador, Adam Altholtz and Dr. Andres Pacheco was a wonderful experience. I am a nervous, fearful patient and Andres was understanding, kind and very patient with me. I needed ferrules, or braces to keep my teeth from falling out which was accomplished professionally and at a reasonable price. When further dental work was needed, a denture, Andres and his staff did an excellent job, the fit is perfect and the price was extremely reasonable. Whenever a problem came up, broken ferrule or a sore tooth, Andres was readily available to solve the problem, always calm, professional and helpful.
