Prof. Dariusz Patkowski is an internationally recognized expert in pediatric endoscopic surgery, with extensive experience in lecturing at numerous international congresses and surgical training courses across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. He has been invited to lecture and train at IRCAD in Strasbourg, France, the world’s most prestigious center for endoscopic surgery education.

Career & Expertise

• Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Urology at the Medical University of Wrocław
• Former President of the Polish Society of Pediatric Surgeons
• Creator of the PIRS technique (Percutaneous Internal Ring Suturing), which revolutionized inguinal hernia treatment
• First surgeon in Poland to perform thoracoscopic anastomosis of an overgrown esophagus in a newborn and developed his own method of internal traction for preservation of the native esophagus
• One of the most experienced surgeons in the world in endoscopic esophageal surgery for newborns with over 150 procedures performed
• Introduced an advanced technique for the treatment of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA)
