The latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) lists breast augmentation as the most popular cosmetic surgical procedure in 2010, with more than 318,000 procedures performed. At the LoVerme Center for Plastic Surgery, Dr. Paul LoVerme says he and his staff experienced similar statistics for breast augmentation in New Jersey. "As the safety of silicone implants has been established, more women are opting to enhance their breasts."
Verona, NJ (PRWEB) July 27, 2011
According to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than 9.3 million cosmetic enhancement procedures were performed in 2010. The most popular procedure was breast augmentation, a statistic that New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Paul LoVerme says was also reflected in the number of procedures performed at the LoVerme Center for Plastic Surgery.
As demand for plastic surgery increased almost 9% in 2010, Dr. LoVerme says the fact that breast augmentation was the most common surgical procedure comes as no surprise. "Initially, the rise in breast augmentation procedures was hampered by health concerns about silicone implants, and wrinkling in saline implants. However, the FDA has recently reaffirmed the safety of silicone gel implants."
