The Korean bio industry has been growing at a rapid pace over the past few years through excellent IT, quality human resources, and technological power. Vast improvements in the medical and clinical capacities of the healthcare industry have been made and according to OECD health data for 2009, Korea was ranked in the top 10 in competitiveness for all areas related to the healthcare industry, such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, employment, R&D investment, invitation of foreign patients, and patent application. These strides in remarkable progress can be attributed to the effort and support of the government, research institutions, academies, and related industries, all with the common goal of making Korea the next center of booming bio industry. The upcoming BIO KOREA 2012 will ultimately signify the culmination of these efforts.
