Medical Tourism marketplace PlacidWay is supporting Rotary's Disaster Relief Fund to rebuild the Abaco Islands that has been devastated by Hurricane Dorian.
PlacidWay, the leading medical tourism marketplace, comes to support Rotary District that has started a relief fund to support the victims of disaster caused by Hurricane Dorian in Bahamas.
On Sunday, September 1, Hurricane Dorian struck the Abaco Islands followed by Grand Bahama at the speed of 185 mph winds and storm surge up to a 23 ft. This is the strongest landfalling Atlantic hurricane in recorded history completely devastating Abaco.
The Disaster Network of Assistance Action Group leaders of District 7020 and neighboring Rotary Districts in Zone 33-34 have swiftly started planning for the recovery efforts. The team is regularly meeting and monitoring the immediate and long-term needs so that they can work towards returning these islands to their former beauty.
PlacidWay also joins this initiative to generate funds to aid The Bahamas. They have added a link to Bahamas Hurricane Dorian relief on their website so that the patients and providers who visit the website can donate directly.
The donations will assist with recovery efforts in all affected territories. Both individuals and corporations can donate and the contributions must be greater than $250.0 and made only in U.S. dollars. Donations can be made to The Bahamas Hurricane Recovery via Credit Card/ PayPal or Bank transfer but not through money order or cashier's check. All donations are tax-deductible. The donation will go directly to the District 7020 Hurricane Dorian Disaster Relief Fund.
The Rotary Clubs of Anguilla, St. Barth's and St Maarten/St. Martin along with the Friends of Rotary and Interact Clubs quickly came together to establish a campaign to assist the Bahamas. As the Bahamas is still enduring the wrath of Hurricane Dorian, it is a great effort to raise funds to assist with the immediate needs of those affected by Dorian.
