About - Zehra Nese Kavak, Prof. MD.
Prof. Zehra Nese Kavak was born in Istanbul and graduated from Cerrahpasa School of Medicine in 1986. During 1990 and 1991, she worked at St. Thomas’s Hospital / London, England towards her specialty training. She became an Associate Professor at Marmara University, School of Medicine in 1996. She worked at King’s College Hospital/London on Perinatology intermittently between 2000 and 2001.
She acquired her Fetal Medicine Diploma at King’s College Hospital, London (2004). In 2001 she founded Perinatology Unit at Marmara University School of Medicine Hospital. The same year she became a professor and was appointed as the Head Physician of the Hospital. Between 2001 and 2005 she served as the Head Physician at Marmara University Hospital. Between 2002 and 2006 she acted as Marmara University’s Assistant Chancellor.
In 2002, she was elected as the Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Marmara University School of Medicine and served in this assignment for two terms. She continued to serve as the Chair of the Perinatology Department from 2001 to 2011. Prof. Kavak has 70 articles published in international refereed journals, 83 articles in national refereed journals, 153 articles in total and 1444 citations made to these publications, 11 assistant’s dissertation theses completed under her guidance and has 120 papers/presentations given in national and international scientific meetings and published in proceedings.
She has been invited to speak at 112 international meetings in various countries around the world, additionally Prof. Kavak has 23 post-specialty overseas education certificates on Perinatology. She also holds seats on the editorial boards of numerous national and international scientific journals. She is an active Gynecologist and Perinatologist in Istanbul Turkey at Academic Hospital.
She was elected as a member of the World Academy of Arts and Science, founded by Einstein and Oppenheimer in 2004, and in 2009, she was elected as a member of the Board of Trustees of the same academy. She is the first Turkish person elected to these positions. With her extensive works in Perinatology, Prof. Kavak is the first Turkish physician to be elected to the Board of World Association of Perinatology in September 2005.
In October 2007, she was elected as a Member of the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine, one of the most respected organizations in the field of Obstetrics. She is a Board Member of Fetus as a Patient Society (2006). Focusing her main field of research on the use of 3D-4D ultrasonography and invasive procedures during pregnancy, Prof. Kavak has co-authored 13 international titles, 8 of which are in English, 3 in Spanish and 1 in Turkish and has also published 2 books in English and Spanish and 1 in Turkish.
In 2007, she was invited to teach as an adjunct professor at Cornell University in New York City and gave a lesson as a Lecturer Professor. On September 15, 2017 Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey, assigned Prof. M.D. Zehra Nese Kavak to the Founding Rectorate of Istanbul Kent University.

I attended here for Hair Transplants. My liaison contact was Burak Yildirim, international manager for the hospital. He was outstanding and so professional. Everything was arranged perfectly and communication was quick and comprehensive. On day of procedure, I was impressed with the hospital and all staff. I would have no hesitation to recommend Academic Hospital.

I am going to give this hospital 5 out of 5 stars. The staff did an excellent job. I was in the hospital for four days after my liposuction. The biggest complaint I have is that there was NO circulating air in the room. It was extremely hot in my room all the time and I had to have the window open. Even then it was hot. I really needed to have a fan because I was burning up. Also, the call light did not work in my room. But overall it's a good hospital. Make fans available to patients, because the air in the rooms doesn't move at all.

Also I have positive shout out for Burak whom was my first point of contact thoughout . He is the captain of consultancy he was available 24/7. Burak sorted everything! He is 110 % trust worthy. So thank you Burak!
Dr Suphan Tunc was my consultant surgeon. She is amazing so lovely kind & caring ! I was able to communicate with Dr Suphan so well. Even though I am from the UK & deep Yorkshire! Can not thank her and the team there enough.
The only thing we had a few problems with was transport but this got better once i spoke to Burak!

I had rhinoplasty with op dr selcuk yazen. He is really amazing. So gentle, caring and kind. He is a perfectionist and did exactly what I asked for, best decision I ever made! The hospital is so clean and modern. The nurses and staff are also so nice and attentive. The nurses who took care of me were so lovely I never had such good treatment. Highly recommend I would have no worries coming here!

Amazing experience with plastic plastic sergeant op.dr.Selcuk Yazan . I’m 45 years old and I decided to do my eye lift surgery.First I have amazing cooperation with doctors team Lela who was talking with me on what’s up who arrange date appointment with the doctor consultation and yes we did the surgery before the surgery they give you private apartment all your belongings cell phones clothing are in apartment apartment it’s closed while you’re on a surgery after surgery you have nurse who is with you on every 15 min putting cold ice massage face…. Hospital it’s nice clean … And the next day you’re home recovering. How I feel better and 10 years younger.
