Dr. Osman İLHAN - Hematoloog
Prof. dr. Osman İLHAN studeerde in 1978 af aan de Faculteit Geneeskunde van de Universiteit van Ankara. Na zijn opleiding tot internist aan dezelfde faculteit in 1982, diende hij tijdens zijn militaire dienst als senior arts-assistent bij de GATA Hematologiekliniek. Na zijn verplichte dienst in het SSK Ulus Ziekenhuis keerde hij terug naar de Faculteit Geneeskunde van de Universiteit van Ankara voor een subspecialisatie. In 1990 werd hij universitair hoofddocent hematologie. Hij werkte in Genua, Italië, om zijn kennis en ervaring op het gebied van leukemie te vergroten. Hij maakte deel uit van het team dat de eerste beenmergstamceltransplantatie in Turkije uitvoerde. In 1996 ging hij naar het MD Anderson Cancer Center in de VS om te werken aan "Stamcelmobilisatie, Cryopreservatie en Transplantatie". In 1996 werd hij hoogleraar hematologie. In 1999 werd hij verkozen tot regionaal voorzitter van de ESFH (European Society for Hemapheresis). Dr. İlhan, oprichter en voorzitter van de Hemapheresis Society in 2000, trad in 2001 toe tot de World Apheresis Association (WAA). In oktober 2001 werd hij voorzitter van de Turkse Hematologievereniging. Dr. İlhan, actief lid van de European Hematology Association (EHA), was lid van de accreditatiecommissie (ECAH) voor onderwijs. Hij speelde een rol bij de accreditatie van Turkse hematologen voor CME-credits door deel te nemen aan de accreditatie van congressen en cursussen die in Turkije werden gehouden met de status van aanbieder. Hij was de oprichter en voorzitter van de Cellular Therapy and Regenerative Medicine Association, opgericht in 2008. Hij werd de oprichter en voorzitter van de Geriatric Hematology Association in 2011. Hij is de erevoorzitter van het World Apheresis Congress (WAA) gehouden in 2012. Dr. İlhan, die eerder diende in de commissies voor geneesmiddelenlicenties en ethiek bij het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, was ook voorzitter van de Fotoferese-Apherese Commissie en het Wetenschappelijk Comité voor Beenmergtransplantatie, evenals voorzitter van de National Organ Tissue Cell Coordination Board, de Wetenschappelijke Raad voor Navelstrengbloed en de Stem Cell Research Board. Dr. İlhan heeft meer dan 300 publicaties in tijdschriften geregistreerd in PubMed en meer dan 5000 citaties. Hij is houder van het Platinum CME-certificaat van de European Hematology Association. Hij bezit vier merken/octrooien: "Kökten Çözüm (Diepe Oplossing), Telehematoloji (Telehematologie), Hemaferez (Hemapherese) en Kanser Kök Hücresi (Kankerstamcel)". Hij is momenteel voorzitter van de Ankara Medical Association. Prof. Dr. Osman İlhan, die 50 jaar werkzaam was aan de Faculteit Geneeskunde van de Universiteit van Ankara, is per 1 januari 2023 in dienst getreden bij het Özel Koru Ankara Ziekenhuis.

Onderwijs
He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1978. After earning his specialization in internal diseases at the same Faculty in 1982, he did his military service as a chief assistant at GATA Hematology Clinic. After his compulsory service duty was given at SSK Ulus Hospital, he returned to Ankara University Faculty of Medicine for minor specialization.
He became associate professor of hematology in 1990. He worked in Genoa, Italy to increase his knowledge and experience on leukemia. He took part in the first blood stem cell transplant team in Turkey.
He went to the USA in 1996 and got M.D. At the Anderson Cancer Center, Prof. Dr. Martin Korbling and Prof.
He became a professor of hematology in 1996.
In 1999, he was elected regional president of the ESFH (European Society for Hemapheresis).
Hemapheresis Association Founding President in 2000, Dr. İlhan entered the management of the World Apheresis Association (WAA) in 2001. Again in October 2001, he became the President of the Turkish Hematology Association. Active in the European Union of Hematology (EHA), Dr. İlhan made a board of education within the body of ECAH (European Hematology Accreditation Committee). As Provider Status, he took part in the accreditation of the congress and course held in Turkey and paved the way for Turkish hematologists in CME credits.
He served as the founding president of the Cellular Therapy and Regenerative Medicine Association, which was founded in 2008.
In 2011, he became the founding president of the Geriatric Hematology Society.
He is the 'Honorary President' of the World Apheresis Congress (WAA) held in 2012. Having previously served on drug licensing and ethics committees at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ilhan; He served as the Chairman of the Photopheresis-Apheresis Commission and the Chairman of the Bone Marrow Transplant Scientific Committee, as well as the Chairman of the National Organ Tissue Cell Coordination Committee, the Cord Blood Scientific Committee and the Stem Cell Research Committee.
He is the founding chairman of the KÖK CELL FOUNDATION.
He played an important role in the establishment of TURKOK (Turkish Stem Cell Donor Bank). With more than 300 publications in Pub-Med registered journals, Dr. Ilhan's; It has over 5000 citations and a H Factor of 34, 1050 EHA-CME credits. It has the Platinum CME certificate of the European Hematology Association.
