I spent too many years trashing my body and mind with substances food, love/abuse and distractions. I became suicidal and I was helpless. The positive and warm environment was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve read in other reviews about how the staff treated them like family. To me, that is a significant understatement. From the moment I walked in the door, it was as if they had known me for years. Truly humbling and at first a little overwhelming. Why were they being so nice and welcoming to us? I could go on forever about their care.

The medical care was nearly equally as impressive. Whatever the patient needs is what they do. Healthy and delicious meals are the standard. They brought in specialists when needed and honestly the care there is likely unrivaled in the States.

During the flood dose and every day or night after, they are on call to help. You are provided with a pager and they happily come to your room. I was on the third floor and everyone was happy to take the stairs (no elevator).

While I wasn’t there for addiction, I saw the impact on the addiction patients that was miraculous. The patients were downtrodden when they arrived and they left as new and renewed people.

The staff was always heavily invested in everyone’s wellbeing and it wasn’t fake. No job was beneath anyone and I saw a director mopping, RN’s cooking, and psychologists spending numerous hours every day trying to be sure the patients were in a good space.

Yes, the Ibogaine was impressive but the clinic and its staff were more impressive than the Ibogaine.

Definitely a good place to experience Ibogaine and I highly recommend New Path.

I just returned from a 10-day stay at New Path Ibogaine Clinic, and I left with a very grateful heart and a new outlook on life. Now I want to shout from the rooftops about this wonderful, healing place, because I know that there are so many people who could benefit from what they offer here!
To start with, Steve (The person you will most likely speak to if you call) was always friendly and easy to talk to, and he answered all of my questions honestly and straightforwardly, each and every time I called. (He was very patient, I must say!)
I followed my gut and decided to come stay there...so I booked a flight to San Diego, and arranged to be picked up at the airport and brought back to the clinic (about an hour\'s drive south of the airport) by one of the wonderful nurses.
When I walked into the doors of New Path, immediately I felt at ease. The place may not be super-fancy, but it is very warm and welcoming and clean,-and that is what really matters . Right after my arrival, I met Steve and Armando (The psychologist and executive director) and Dr. Silva, the cooks and other support staff, and some of the nurses. Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE!) was so warm and welcoming. I very quickly realized that I did indeed make the right choice.

The ibogaine treatment itself was intense for me (it does not affect everyone the same way, though), but it gave me what I needed. Throughout the entire time I was undergoing treatment, I was closely monitored and tended to by Dr. Silva and a team of nurses, and so I knew that I was 100% safe at all times during treatment. (Safety and medical supervision are important things to consider when choosing an ibogaine clinic.)
The nurses- each and every one of them- are professional, hardworking, and knowledgeable. But more than that, it is so obvious that they genuinely care about their patients, and they make it their team mission to pour as much love and good energy and care into their patients.
There was not one grumpy, lazy, or just unpleasant nurse- not one! (I have not been so lucky in other situations). I was amazed at not just the way they took care of me and the other patients, but at the way they work together. This is a strong team that has worked together for years...and so to me, they seemed more like a family than anything.
In fact, if I could sum up the enviornment at New Path, I would say it is a safe, warm, homelike, family enviornment where you can go to rest and heal from whatever your affliction is and get set towards a new direction in life. For the 10 days I was there, they were my family and that was my home.
I will be eternally grateful for the care I recieved while i was there, and I would encourage anyone considering ibogaine treatment (followed by 5 meo DMT) to call Steve at New Path and see if it\'s the right place for you.

The place is great. I mean, personally, it was really cool; everyone was very kind and helpful. I must admit that the staff was always attentive to me, leaving aside the fact that the only thing I said was WRONG was the jacuzzi. It was either too hot or too cold, and it was almost impossible to get a medium temperature. Especially since other patients kept fiddling with the settings.

Otherwise, I had a pleasant experience. I spent a week with the New Path family and, honestly, I would recommend this place to anyone suffering from anxiety and depression.

I’ve struggled with addiction for 40 years, trying everything I could to quiet that hurt and compulsion with varying degrees of success. But no matter what I tried, I would eventually fail, destroy everything good in my life, and have to start over again. New Path was the last house on the block for me. I didn’t have much hope left, but I was told to keep an open mind and trust the process. Wouldn’t you know it, something magical happened to me during my 10-day stay there. Between the treatment and the incredible people, I walked out a different person. I’ve been to traditional treatment centers at least a half dozen times, and each time I left feeling hopeful that maybe this time it would stick. But when I left New Path, it wasn’t just hope. I felt confident and ready to truly live my life. Since coming home, friends and family keep asking, “What happened to you? You’re different.” You get some funny looks when you tell them: the bark of an African shrub, toad venom, and the unconditional love of a dozen Mexicans. I can only hope that everyone who chooses this path has the same life-changing experience I did.

My Experience at New Path Ibogaine Specialized Clinic

I’d like to share a few words about my recent trip to New Path Ibogaine Specialized Clinic. From the moment I stepped into their beautiful home, I was welcomed by some of the kindest, most compassionate souls I have ever met. Their only mission is to help people in need of true healing.

Steve, the intake administrator, spoke with me for over three months while I made my decision. He never pressured me—not once. He simply listened, supported, and allowed me to come to this choice on my own terms. Steve is a special man.

The medical team is extraordinary. Dr. Silva is, without question, one of the world’s leading Ibogaine doctors. Adria, the in-house psychologist, has a gentle, disarming way about her that can soften even the hardest personalities. The nursing staff is large, but every single one of them has a heart of gold. Their bedside manner, compassion, and dedication to patient recovery are second to none.

While each nurse was wonderful, I must mention a few by name. Hennessy was always there when I needed her, full of kindness and care. Kevin was excellent as well. But Humberto and Sammi—these two young men became angels in my life. They stayed with me through the hardest nights, ensuring I made it through the most grueling, difficult part of the treatment. I genuinely believe they were sent by God to help me survive and heal. To them, I owe a debt of love and eternal gratitude.

Beyond the medical staff, the women in the kitchen deserve recognition. They prepare food with love for every patient, nourishing not only the body but also the spirit. Helen, one of the administrators, and Laura, the nurse manager, are both remarkable women with hearts of gold. David, the house manager, became like a best friend to me during my stay.

New Path is more than a clinic—it is a family. A family that loves, cares, and heals while also providing world-class medical care. They are saving lives every day: people struggling with Parkinson’s, MS, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, alcoholism, and opioid addiction.

I entered New Path a broken man, weighed down by years of pain, trauma, and heavy opioid use. I left clean—my brain reset to its pre-addicted state. That is not an exaggeration. It is reality.

Finally, I must mention Isaac, the shaman I met before leaving. He helped reopen my mind to the beauty of the world—the colors, the wonder, and most importantly, the God within each of us. Thank you, Isaac, for reminding me that my faith is alive, strong, and deeply rooted.

If you\'re looking for Ibogaine treatment, this is the place. 24/7 Medical staff. For the entirety of the flood dose, the doctor was there along with at least three nurses. I felt so welcomed, safe and comfortable the entire stay. It was life-changing.

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart. This is a place for healing. Since I left, I have grown so much. After actively using heroin and then fentanyl straight for over 5 years, I\'m clean and my life is coming together. I understand myself more and more everyday, I understand my past and why I started using in the first place. This was the BEST thing I\'ve ever done for myself.

Before I share my details, I just have to say I meet some remarkable men and women that started a journey to better themselves and that journey started at New Path. Next to the staff you’re not just nurses and caregivers you’re amazing men and women. Angels in disguise. Went there for Parkinson’s treatment and I’m not sure where my journey ends but I can say it started at New Path and for the first time in 8 1/2 years I think I have a chance. Dr. Silva is super sharp and smart (though only present during dosing night)

The Bad
Misleading Advertising & Broken Promises:

Facility photos are deceptive - Pictures on the website show the old house, not the actual facility you\'ll be staying in
No hyperbaric chamber - Advertised but not available
Therapy sessions not delivered - Promised 12 sessions with a therapist in their emails, but you don\'t actually receive them
Hidden fees - Told it costs extra to cross the border or you\'ll wait hours in line.
Pattern of misleading practices - I know several others who had the same experience

Professionalism Issues:

Extremely unprofessional that other patients\' treatments are visible on the TV downstairs - major privacy concern
Therapists seemed more flirty than genuinely helpful
Once you\'re dosed, the follow-through and care drops off significantly
The operation feels more focused on getting you dosed and paid than providing quality aftercare

The Bottom Line
While the Ibogaine treatment itself was powerful and the nursing staff was exceptional, the clinic\'s business practices are concerning. The disconnect between what\'s promised (via website and email) and what\'s actually delivered is significant. Issues include:

Misleading facility photos
Unfulfilled promises about amenities and therapy sessions

Privacy concerns with patients being visible to others during treatment
More focus on money than quality care and follow-through

Would I recommend? No. I will not be recommending this clinic to anyone.
It\'s disappointing because the treatment works and the core staff (nurses, shaman) are great, but the operational side and lack of follow-through on included services make this difficult to endorse. If you\'re considering New Path, ask very specific questions about what\'s actually included, verify facility photos are current, and get everything in writing.

For anyone who is struggling and doesn\'t want to be overly medicated for the rest of their life, trust New Path. I never thought I would look forward to anything ever again, but I have since been given a new lease on life. Thank you again to everyone who supported and believed in me.

I showed up mentally & emotionally broken down after 15 years of prescription medication. I was very nervous because I had never taken psychedelics but the great staff, therapist & positive energy of the environment calmed me down. My ibogaine experience was great I felt an emotionally comforting feeling throughout the journey. One part of the journey was telling me to not take pills and after that I felt my brain healing itself. The ibogaine was the physical experience. I don\'t even know where to begin. I am a fifty year old man who has battlled with alcohol addiction for most of my life. I have tried to get sober many time and always went back. I was at the end of my rope when I learned about ibogaine. I did tons of research trying to find what was right for me. I watched several people go through the same thing all with different outlooks and everyone very positive. The ibogaine is there to rewire your brain, it can be a little tough but gives you what you need to open up. Then you get to meet the wonderful Isaac. Isaac is a shaman with a heart of gold and knowledge in healing like I\'ve never seen. He took me on a journey with 5-meo that opened up my heart and soul like I never thought imaginable. I have been home from Mexico now for 3 months and I have to say I am living happy, Stress and Anxiety free. I have a new outlook on life and for the first time I feel relevant in this world. Now please let me speak about New Path. From the very first phone call I had with Steve I knew this is where I needed to be. He made me feel comfortable and did a wonderful job explaining the entire process to me. I cannot sit here and list every staff member that was wonderfully helpful along this journey. The medical staff is top-notch people filled with compassion and knowledge led by Dr Silva who knows more about ibogaine than probably anyone in the world. He has many videos on YouTube but when I talked to him face to face I was blown away impressed. As for the facility it is a house, a wonderful house. It is not a hospital setting with white walls and lab coats , it\'s very comfortable. I was not much of a sleeper going into this and having Sammie and Humberto, the night nurses to keep me company and talk to me was so nice. every staff member is so kind and genuine I can\'t say enough. if you do Venture down make sure you ask David to take you out for tacos ,trust me on that one. Now I absolutely must speak about the angel I met. Yes New Path has a real live angel on staff. I\'ve been to several inpatient and outpatient programs and have dealt with many therapists and counselors, some good some bad but I never met a human being, let alone a psychologist that treated people with respect, kindness, love, and absolute honesty than Adria. This \"brightest star in the galaxy \" helped me put things in perspective like why I do what I do and she made me want to love myself again. I am forever in debt.She has truly saved my life. If you decide ibogaine is right for you and want to be in a very comfortable very safe setting then this is the place for you.
