The Upper Blepharoplasty and Brow Lift Package combines two complementary facial procedures to rejuvenate the upper eye and forehead area.
Upper blepharoplasty focuses on excess upper eyelid skin and eyelid puffiness, while brow lift surgery repositions a low or sagging eyebrow. When performed together in appropriately selected patients, these procedures may create a brighter, smoother, and more rested appearance without changing the patient’s natural facial identity.
Procedures Included
Upper Blepharoplasty
Upper blepharoplasty, also known as upper eyelid surgery, is designed to improve loose or sagging skin that affects the natural contour of the upper eyelid. It may also address fatty deposits that create puffiness or a heavy appearance.
The incision is generally positioned within the natural upper eyelid crease. Through this incision, the surgeon may remove or reposition excess fat, adjust underlying tissue, and conservatively remove excess skin. The incision location is selected to help keep the resulting scar discreet within the eyelid’s natural structure.
Upper blepharoplasty may help improve:
- Hooded or heavy-looking upper eyelids
- Excess skin covering the natural eyelid crease
- Upper eyelid puffiness
- A tired or aged appearance around the eyes
- Visual obstruction caused by excess eyelid skin in selected patients
- Asymmetry related to uneven skin or fat distribution
Brow Lift
A brow lift, also called a forehead lift, is designed to reposition a low or sagging eyebrow. It may also reduce forehead lines and improve frown lines between the eyebrows, depending on the selected surgical technique.
The procedure can help raise brows that contribute to hooding over the upper eyelids and place the eyebrows in a more refreshed position.
A brow lift may help improve:
- Low or sagging eyebrows
- Heaviness around the outer eye area
- Brow descent contributing to upper eyelid hooding
- Horizontal forehead lines
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- A tired, serious, or downturned expression
Several brow lift techniques are available, including endoscopic, temporal, hairline, direct, and coronal approaches. The appropriate method depends on the patient’s brow position, forehead height, hairline, skin quality, anatomy, and treatment goals.
Why Combine Upper Blepharoplasty With a Brow Lift?
Upper eyelid heaviness may result from excess eyelid skin, a low eyebrow position, or a combination of both. Upper blepharoplasty removes selected excess tissue from the eyelid, while a brow lift addresses descent of the forehead and brow tissues.
Treating both areas may provide a more balanced result in patients whose upper eyelid hooding is partly caused by brow descent. However, not every patient requires both procedures. A detailed facial examination is necessary to determine whether upper blepharoplasty alone, brow lift alone, or the combined package is appropriate.
Who May Be a Suitable Candidate?
This package may be suitable for adults who:
- Have excess or sagging upper eyelid skin
- Experience upper eyelid puffiness
- Have low, flattened, or descending eyebrows
- Have forehead lines or frown lines they would like to improve
- Feel that their eye area appears tired or heavy
- Are in generally good health
- Do not smoke or are prepared to stop before and after surgery
- Have realistic expectations about the outcome
- Can follow postoperative and travel instructions
Suitable candidates should not have uncontrolled medical conditions that could interfere with healing or serious untreated eye conditions. Final eligibility is determined following an assessment of the patient’s medical history, eye health, facial anatomy, brow position, hairline, medications, previous procedures, and expectations.
Important Diagnostic Differences
Upper blepharoplasty does not automatically correct every form of drooping eyelid. True eyelid ptosis may result from weakness or stretching of the muscle responsible for raising the eyelid and may require a different operation.
Similarly, upper blepharoplasty alone may not fully correct hooding caused by a low brow. The surgeon must distinguish between excess eyelid skin, brow descent, eyelid ptosis, and combinations of these conditions before preparing the treatment plan.
Personalized Surgical Planning
During the consultation, the surgeon may evaluate:
- Upper eyelid skin and fat distribution
- Natural eyelid crease and eye shape
- Brow height, shape, and symmetry
- Forehead height and hairline position
- Degree of lateral brow descent
- Eyelid muscle function
- Dry-eye symptoms and general eye health
- Previous facial, eyelid, or brow surgery
- Skin quality and scar history
- The patient’s desired level of correction
Clinical photographs may be taken for surgical planning. Patients with dry eyes, glaucoma, thyroid disease, vision concerns, previous eye surgery, or other eye conditions may require further assessment before treatment.
Typical Package Inclusions
The final inclusions depend on the patient’s personalized treatment plan and the medical provider’s quotation. The package may include:
- Preoperative surgeon consultation
- Facial and upper eyelid assessment
- Upper blepharoplasty
- Brow lift surgery
- Surgeon’s fees
- Anesthesia services
- Operating room and standard facility fees
- Routine preoperative blood tests
- Medications administered during the procedure

Hotel accommodation, airport transfers, interpretation services, medications after discharge, additional medical tests, specialist eye examinations, extended hospital stays, and procedures not specifically listed should be confirmed directly with the clinic.
Treatment Process
Before surgery, the patient undergoes a medical evaluation and detailed examination of the upper eyelids, eyebrows, forehead, and hairline. The surgeon selects the amount of eyelid skin to be removed and determines the most appropriate brow lift technique.
Upper blepharoplasty is usually performed through an incision placed in the natural upper eyelid crease. Brow lift incisions vary according to the selected technique and may be positioned within the scalp, near the temporal hairline, or along the hairline.
The procedure may be performed under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. The final anesthesia method is selected by the surgeon and anesthesia team according to the surgical plan, patient health, and expected procedure length.
After surgery, the patient is monitored in a recovery area. Same-day discharge may be possible, while observation or an overnight stay may be recommended in selected cases.
Recovery and Aftercare
Temporary swelling, bruising, tightness, numbness, eye irritation, dry eyes, and mild discomfort may occur during the early recovery period. Eyelid ointment, prescribed medication, and specific wound-care instructions may be provided.
After a brow lift, the forehead may be taped or loosely wrapped to help minimize swelling. A temporary drain may be used in selected cases. Patients are generally advised to keep the head elevated and avoid vigorous activity for the period recommended by the surgeon.
Patients may be instructed to:
- Keep the head elevated while resting
- Use prescribed ointments, eye drops, and medication
- Avoid rubbing or applying pressure to the eyelids
- Protect the forehead and scalp incisions
- Avoid strenuous exercise, bending, and heavy lifting
- Avoid smoking and alcohol during healing
- Temporarily avoid contact lenses and eye makeup
- Wear dark sunglasses outdoors
- Protect scars from direct sun exposure
- Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments
Initial healing commonly takes approximately 10 to 14 days, although some swelling or bruising may remain visible for longer. Incisions continue to refine over several weeks, and complete healing may take several months.
Because two procedures are combined, the patient’s individual recovery may differ from the recovery expected after either surgery alone. Travel and return-to-work plans should be approved by the treating surgeon.
Expected Outcome
The combined package aims to create:
- A smoother upper eyelid contour
- Reduced eyelid hooding and puffiness
- A better-defined natural eyelid crease
- Improved brow position
- A more open appearance around the eyes
- A smoother forehead and brow area
- A brighter and more rested expression
- Balanced rejuvenation of the upper third of the face
Improvements become increasingly visible as swelling and bruising subside. Brow lift results may be noticeable early, but the tissues and incision lines continue to settle over the following months. Eyelid surgery results are generally long-lasting, although natural aging, genetics, sun exposure, and lifestyle will continue to affect the eye and brow area.
No specific result, degree of symmetry, or duration of improvement can be guaranteed.
Risks and Important Considerations
All surgical procedures involve risks. Potential risks associated with upper blepharoplasty may include:
