After the treatment, the skin will look red and swollen, but that is to be expected. In the days to follow, the skin will form a scab over the area and then fall off to reveal pink, new skin. Once the scab has fallen off, the pink skin will feel tight and itchy, but the ointment given by the surgeon should help relieve any discomfort. Using the ointment regularly not only helps with discomfort, but also reduces any itchiness and scabbing immediately after the procedure.  

Complete healing takes several weeks before the skin color returns back to normal, and the doctor will offer strict instructions to avoid alcohol, sunlight or any physical activities that interfere with healing.
