My stay here at the ranch has been amazing! This is the first time I have ever had surgery, and I was scared. This is also the second time I have ever been out of the US, and I haven’t spoken Spanish since 10th grade. The staff here have made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. Frances and Sophia are just amazing! I never expected to get the amount of care that I received here. They have amazing food, and catered to my tastes and preferences. They provided transportation, they helped make my appointments for me, and I didn’t have to worry about anything. My recovery has been better than I imagined, and I give credit to my wonderful experience at Chetica Ranch! Gracias!

A beautiful place, very cozy and located in a spectacular place, the views are unbeatable surrounded by pure nature. Breakfast, which is brought to your room, the exquisite gallo pinto. The room is very spacious and the beds very comfortable. They are very friendly, a 10 out of 10.

- Very beautiful, peaceful surroundings.
- Staff was extremely friendly.
- They kept the rooms very clean, every day.
- Nurse spoke English which was very helpful at times.
- Food was good. They always prepared a nice lunch.
Cons
- First night of surgery I had to deal with a flood in the room, among other things. Barely got an apology and $30 discount when that night should have been clearly subtracted.
- First night care I could have managed myself. I was only helped with the meds when my face (after facelift) should have been iced, and fluffy pillows provided.
- I changed rooms but all Rooms were extremely outdated.
- Uncomfortable beds, sheets/covers and pillows seemed warned out.
- Ordering food wasn’t easy. They should have had some kind of ordering card handy (since most don’t speak English)
- After surgery you can’t chew which limits what you can eat. Hence, ordering system is crucial. Not to mention for food preferences and Allergies.
- Location is at least one hour away from downtown during traffic hours and that is challenging after a serious operation when you need to go for your follow up. -

Che Tica ranch is absolutely gorgeous, it was amazing for my recovery and I highly recommend it to anyone getting surgery in costa rica. The staff is great and the food was delicious. My husband and I are vegetarians and we enjoyed not having to worry about inconveniencing the chefs they were all prepared for any kind of diet restrictions possible. The grounds were stunning we took many beautiful walks on the property and were able to see many different animals . So peaceful ,exactly what I needed

First, let me say that I did not stay here as patient. I stayed here to be of support to a patient from the US and to get a first hand account of what it would be like to stay here from the patient perspective. I work as a Patient Ambassador in the US helping patients plan their travel and surgery to have full mouth dental implant restorations in Costa Rica. The sweet patient who stayed here during my travel had nothing but glowing remarks. From the nursing care after his surgery, to the food and transportation to and from his appointments he was in the best of hands.
Lets face it. Planning for surgery close to home is stressful right? The unbelieveable staff at Chetica makes traveling for any surgery a breeze and if you are traveling solo, dont worry. You will never feel alone.
You will be spoiled by the staff and owners Ruben and Lorena, and catered to like you are royalty. I am a very picky person when it comes to travel accomodations, but trust me, the bedding is crisp, the adorable cottages are spotless, and the food is is to die for.
If you are looking for a warm, safe environment with breathtaking views, sweet and compassionate caretakers, and amazing cuisine-BOOK YOUR STAY NOW AND NEVER LOOK BACK. Bravo to the entire Chetica Ranch family. From here on out, my patients will stay here for top notch, white glove service and I will be back too! -

I truly enjoyed staying at CheTica Ranch during my recovery. The nurses are Amazing and so sweet. The food is excellent and the chef is very creative. I loved the room Big Bear and I also stayed in the Bourbon Street room because I love the private balcony and the birds singing in the morning. I am looking forward to coming back again just to try another themed room. Ruben did an excellent job designing his amazing ranch that is themed around the world. I love how the villas really look just like Italy and I plan on staying in one. When I go back again in a few months I want to try the Greece room. The grounds are beautiful and very enjoyable to walk around the trails and sit on the swings. I walked to the cute chapel and went inside and looked out the window and a mother cow and her baby were both staring at me and it was so cute. It made my day. Its great seeing horses and cows from some of the rooms. You really feel like you are in the country with lots of trees and greenery. It was wonderful from the get go. Its a very nice luxury being in constant communication with Ruben about any questions you may have from your first email to your last. Its also a very nice luxury being picked up at the airport with an excellent driver (Eric) and Francis the nurse. I truly enjoyed every driver I had during my stay, they knew exactly where to go to my doctors appointments. I definitely recommend staying at CheTica Ranch whether on vacation or recovering from surgery. I am very satisfied how I felt like I was treated very well and felt very comfortable as Francis kept in touch with my doctor and sent him pictures of my progress. Very professional and homey and after staying for two weeks it felt like family.
