Okay, my name is Dave Elko and I live in Mission, Texas. In 2019, in the fall of 2019, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
So we, my wife and I thought about it. She contacted a good friend of hers who is an herbalist and a naturopath back in Kentucky. We used to live in Kentucky. And she's been friends with Della for a long time. And Della said, I know a place you might consider going. It's called Immunity Therapy Center in Tijuana, Mexico.
We're like, really, in Tijuana, Mexico. And she had a good friend that came here for breast cancer and had a very positive experience at ITC. So we called up, we said, hey, here's my situation.
I'm just a Gleason six, you know, prostate cancer guy. My PSA is not very high. It's, you know, this is a very non-life-threatening condition, but can you help me with this? I felt like I could do something, you know, to... I was only 64 at the time.
So, I was 64 years old, which seemed kind of young, you know. And so we decided to come. We made the arrangements and we came. And I know I was a very unusual case because most people that show up here are in much more desperate need of help than I was.
I was in a really a non-life threatening situation, but I wanted to do something to see if I could curb this and prevent something from occurring in the future. So, I went through all the immunotherapy. The doctor kept an eye on my PSA marker.
I brought the results from the biopsy, of course. We could see that. And they did an MRI here where they could see the tumor, actually two or there was two spots in my prostate, two or three, three spots. So we went through about three weeks and by the end of the third week finally my PSA took a dip, started turning around.
I stayed one extra week. I stood for a fourth week and continued the immunotherapy and then was released. And like I said, my PSA had started to take a drop and I did the at-home program, the follow-up program at home with the ultrasound, the heat, all the vitamins and the supplements. I forget all the program, the home program, but I continued on at home with that.
And my PSA continued to go down and down. And when I returned after a year and got a new MRI, the spots in my prostate were gone at that point. They could see nothing at that point any longer. So, and I've had another recently, very recently, had another MRI done and still I'm clean. There's nothing there anymore.
My prostate looks very normal and healthy. Bladder looks good, everything else good. So I'm like two thumbs up, between the therapy here and then three sessions at home, three 90-day programs at home.
Uh, excellent. I mean, it's just so different than being back home. I have a very good doctor at home. I like her a lot. But this is a very personal, and they're really concerned more about the whole person than what I'm used to. So I really, really like that.
Well, and I have to say when I was here the meals were excellent. I'm not one of those guys that takes pictures of food and puts them on Facebook or something, but I actually took pictures of some of those meals because they were just so excellent. So yes, I felt the nutrition was very good, and the counseling on how to avoid things that might exacerbate the situation was really helpful. So, and like I said, I kept a lot of that in my diet.
Well, when I was here in 2019, I had no trouble at all. I walked across at the PedWest border crossing and I had Uber on my phone. I'd get an Uber and they would take me over to ITC, and I'd do my day, and then I'd call Uber at the end and take me back to the pedestrian crossing, and my wife would pick me up on the other side. We're very comfortable coming in and out, so it's great.
I would definitely recommend giving it a try. When I was here in 2019, it was the very end of 2019 and the first week or so of 2020. It seemed like a lot of the folks that came had been through a lot with their cancer or situation, and finally they had found this place to come.
And I wish you could go back and tell them, hey, try first, you know, go there first. Because that's kind of where I was at coming here. I wanted to try this first and see if we could just turn a corner without even any radiation or chemo or anything like that. Having to do those things, I didn't want to face that.
So I was able to kind of get the drop on this early. I felt that was very positive. So I would recommend going as soon as you can, and seeing how much you can accomplish just through a more natural approach with the immunotherapies and alternative medicine.
