My name is Bonnie Friedman. I'm from the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
My diagnosis is Waldenstroms, which is a blood cancer where the IgM multiplies and you have this excess and it wrecks havoc with your blood and whatever. And so I was diagnosed about four years ago maybe five, and I knew from minute one that I did not want to do conventional medicine.
So within the last two months a series of events happened and I felt awful and I said, "Okay, it's time to go to Mexico." I knew I was going to come to Mexico. So, I looked up a few places and I usually go with my gut and so I saw ITC and I said, "Okay, that's who I'm going to call." And then like I met with on Zoom with Dr. Orozco and said, "That's where I'm going." And I was here within in less than a week. So, I just made the decision that this was the place to go and I'm convinced that this is the place to go.
Oh my god, everyone is awesome. Everyone here is awesome. So, very approachable, um, kind, gentle, caring, great memory. Remember names, remember what's the the nurse up that she remembers. She's like on it. So, yeah, they're I I can't say enough good things about like I said, everyone here to the kitchen people to everyone.
So I love Luis I thought he was amazing and spot on um from the first second, he gave me an a ha moment that I was like... And then I saw him a few times because I had seen him and I thought all was well and then I got some news that I was like really confused about and I was crying and I said, "Can you see me again?" And he was very willing to see me again. And then again, so I needed to see him a few times but every single time it it was another aha moment.
And again, kind and understanding and understands what we're going through and speaks from talks to us about the emotional component and there is a huge emotional component to I think personally all cancer diagnoses. So, um so I think that's really important to to get to that and he's really great at that. He led me through a guided meditation that was fabulous and just gave me a lot of tools to kind of work on my emotional component. Yeah, he's awesome.
There's nothing that's painful in my opinion. There's nothing that's painful. Even down to the IVs, they are spot on with putting and we get IVs, you know, I have a couple of days. So they are spot on and that doesn't even hurt. They're all great and you know, they feel good. You don't really feel much. You know, there's some hot, there's a cold, there's but but nothing nothing painful at all.
So I had this um procedure called a plasmapheresis done on Wednesday. Something that no doctors in the United States would have ever recommended. And I just spoke to Dr. Carrillo today, so I'm actually really excited to share this with you. So, my IgM, which is my bad guy, um was at 2300 before the procedure and it came down to 997. So I was doing like the happy dance.
It's affected my my illness has affected my kidney function and in one day my kidney function improved also. So that was fabulous. So I've seen but even before that I was already feeling more energy. So, and that was two weeks in to me being here is when I had the procedure and I was already feeling more energy and feeling better and that just sent it even better. So, I'm super excited. This is my I'm I'm in my third week now I leave next week. And I'll do the at home program because keep the momentum going for sure.
Um, so Tijuana is much bigger than I remember it being. I went in 1976 and Tijuana was not but Tijuana is today. But but it's fine. Like it's perfectly the the apartments because that's where I'm staying are in a perfectly safe neighborhood. There's a soccer field two seconds away. So you hear all the cheering from the the soccer. Um, so there's there's nothing to fear. I go out for walks. I go up to the supermarket that's nearby and definitely there's nothing to fear. I've taken the taxi Manny to Costco and it's a perfectly lovely. It's a residential area actually. There's a dog park around the corner and you know, see everybody there with their dogs. So, it's a great area.
Just do it. Just do it because you won't be sorry. You may have questions going back and forth and you know, I was clear personally that I wanted alternative medicine. I've been doing other practices at home, you know, before realizing I needed to finally come to a clinic. But and even when you're here sometimes, you know, you're you question it but then like for me then I get these results and I'm like there's there's no doubt in my mind and I know other people, um there's another gentleman who's been here about the same time as me and you know, I've seen such improvements in him as well. So, so just do it and don't don't, you know, try not to second guess and try not to question it because it's really important for your health and longevity in my opinion.
