Svitlana Mykolaivna Gramatiuk (born September 1, 1980, Kharkiv, Ukraine) is the president of the Ukrainian Association of Biobanks, director of the Institute of Cellular Bio-Rehabilitation, member of the Working Group on Scientific Research of the European Association of Biobanks, member of the Working Group on the Development and Implementation of Quality Standards for Mesenchymal Stem Cells. Education and Qualifications In 2003, she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention of Kharkiv National Medical University and was enrolled in a master's degree at the Department of Infectious Diseases, after which she worked as an infectious disease specialist. In 2004, she defended her master's thesis on the topic: "The Importance of Melatonin in the Course of Chronic Hepatitis C" and received the scientific degree of Master of Infectious Diseases. Main areas of scientific research: endogenous intoxication syndrome in patients with viral hepatitis C; ixodid tick-borne borreliosis. In 2010, she was appointed assistant professor at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of Kharkiv National Medical University, under the supervision of Professor Anatoly Yakovych Tsyganenko. Main areas of scientific research: patterns and processes of antibiotic resistance in a consortium of microorganisms, methods for assessing the possibility of biofilm formation by microorganisms.
Since May 2014, she has worked as the head of the clinical diagnostic laboratory of Kharkiv Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 17. During the same period, she was the deputy director of the S. P. Grigoriev Institute of Medical Radiology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. In the same year, she organized the first joint European medical and scientific center in Ukraine, ESCMID (ID CollaborativeCentre No. 338). Main areas of scientific research: development of screening methods for detecting early forms of onco-pathology, study of the bioenergetic potential of cells in normal and pathological conditions, work with cell cultures.
From 2015 to 2017, she was the head of the scientific and clinical department at the Medical Diagnostic Center ASK-Health LLC. Since 2017, she has been the president of the Ukrainian Association of Biobanks and since 2018, she has been the medical director of the Institute of Cellular Biorehabilitation. In June 2018, she received a specialization in stem cells and regenerative medicine at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.
In September 2018, she defended her master's thesis at the Medical University of Graz, Austria, specializing in Biobanking. The topic of the thesis was "Plan for Sustainable Development of Biobanks in Developing Countries" and received a Master of Medicine degree in Biobanking. Main areas and results of research: organization and management of the biobanking and biotechnology system, organization and conduct of quality control of biological material, organization and conduct of audits in biobanks and biotechnology laboratories.
