I am turning 70 this year.
Since last year, the wrinkles under my mouth have become more prominent. Though I did not have a square face before, when I looked in the mirror, it became more square-like.

In August, I finally underwent the incision lift I had long been dreaming of. In the past, I had double jaw surgery and two-point facial contouring, but even then, if I slightly tucked my chin, a double chin appeared, and when I smiled, the marionette lines deepened. Non-surgical treatments like fillers and lasers could only do so much. Eventually, I realized that excess skin could only be removed physically—and that conviction led me to choose an incision lift.

Choosing the Surgeon & Consultations
I consulted with 15 surgeons in Japan and 4 in Korea. My criteria were clear: the ability to perform an Extended Deep Plane Facelift with proper ligament release, a neck lift using the hammock method to anchor to the periosteum, and no deformities such as pixie ear or displaced tragus. I also valued annual surgical volume and experience.
In the end, I chose Dr. Ryu, who is widely regarded as one of the best facelift surgeons in Asia. His skill, results, and patient cases were far beyond what I had seen in Japan. It seems like when I talk to my friend group, the biggest concern is anti-aging. I was concerned about my sagging face with severe nasolabial folds. I heard from a friend who got a procedure done by Dr. Ryu. Through her I heard about his amazing skills in face lifting and his plastic surgery clinic, RN Wood in Gangnam, South Korea.
I booked my flight and went to his clinic in Gangnam to get a consultation. While waiting at the clinic, they even had snacks and drinks available for patients. I felt no pain on my face but did feel some numbness on my forehead probably from the endodine. But overall I had minimal swelling! strongly recommend you contact Dr. Ryu. He gave me a complete extended deep-plane facelift, deep neck lift, lower eyes, forehead lift, and fat grafting. All done in one day. His deep plane facelift provides much more correction than a normal one, and will last significantly longer. I want to stress that this is a boutique clinic. Many of the big Korean clinics are basically factories and work on volume. This place is all about top quality results and individual service. They might be a little more expensive, but it is really worth it.

Some of you may wonder about the language and cultural barrier. Please do not worry about this clinic. Prior to surgery, a consultant corresponded with me for some weeks, answering all my questions with incredible patience and precision. Post surgery, the lady (literally) at my side at all times was actually a Korean from the US. Based on my own experience, RNWOOD is a highly trusted plastic surgery clinic. Dr. Min-Hee Ryu is an exceptionally knowledgeable doctor with a great personality. He clearly explained all the processes I needed to go through. At over 60 years old, the results of the deep plane facelift surgery I underwent were beyond my expectations. It was painless, not too swollen, and the service was truly premium. The clinic is easy to access and impeccably clean. They offer aftercare services such as oxygen therapy and light therapy to speed up the recovery process, allowing me to remove the bandage by the third day. Additionally, there is a service for washing hair.

I’m 48 years old Asian woman living in Singapore, and I had zygoma reduction surgery in early 2024. After that procedure I experienced a significant sagging on my mid and lower face - which is expected - then I started my research to do a necessary facelift surgery.

After doing months of research from many top countries for Asia’s facelift surgery like Korea, Thailand, Turkey, and Singapore, I finally decided to put my confidence with Dr. Ryu from BIO Plastic Surgery Clinic - Gangnam South Korea.

Dr. Ryu has a very clear techniques and procedures on deep plane face and neck lift surgery and he explained it in a very detail way through his social media platforms (IG/Facebook/Youtoube,etc) that made me comfortable to set my expectations. Also I loved the result of his works that he shared on his social media which looks very natural and elegant without too much tightness on the skin which I want to avoid.

In Oct 2024, I reached out to Dr. Ryu’s clinic and got in touch with Haley - Dr. Ryu’s lovely assistant at BIO Clinic. I had prepared so many questions from my side since I was determined to have only one time facelift in my whole life, therefore I had to make sure that I chose the best doctor there is.On top of that, I will be travelling alone for this procedure from Singapore to Seoul so I had to make sure that I will have the best assistance from the clinic throughout the whole surgery and the recovery period. Haley answered all my questions patiently and gave me the confidence that I needed to finally make the decision to confirm with the surgery.

I came to Gangnam and did face to face consultation with Dr. Ryu by end of Oct and since our first interaction, I already felt a very good chemistry between us. Dr. Ryu is such a warm and humbled doctor, he listened to all my issues, my expectations and also all my worries going through with the procedure.He explained his method to me patiently, answered all my worries and gave his suggestions on the procedure that I should have which are Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift plus Fat Graft on 3 main areas on my face (upper medial malar areas, the nasolabial grooves, and the prejowl sulcus). He also threw some jokes here and there during our conversation so it wasn't always serious and it helped me to relax a lot.

Finally I had the surgery on 29th Oct morning, and the surgery was quite complicated and it took longer than expected because I had several procedures like fillers and thread lift on my face before. But with Dr. Ryu’s magic hands, he successfully managed the surgery and I was able to talk and walk normally in the afternoon.

The recovery from the surgery was beyond my expectations. I did not feel any pain at all, I had good sleeps, the swollen in my face was very minimal, I can eat whatever I want, and during my stay for 2 weeks in Seoul, Dr. Ryu and Haley saw me every single day to check up my wounds, changed my bandage, and sent me to laser and oxygen treatment. Every single day until I flew back to Singapore!!

I was very touched and blown away by Dr. Ryu and Haley’s excellent and very personal service. They treated me with such warmth and always made sure I had a very comfortable recovery and got all the things that I needed.

I am beyond happy and very satisfied with my surgery results, and now after two weeks from the surgery, I still experience no pain and the swollen is very little that I am able to do my daily activities as per normal.

My highest appreciation and recommendation for Dr. Ryu’s work of art and his attentions to every details and of course Haley for her patience, warm, and cheerful personality that I felt I made the best decision to do my face and necklift surgery at Dr. Ryu’s clinic.

I recently flew to Korea to get a facelift with Dr. Ryu and I wanted to share my experience now that I’m 1 month post-op ✨

Before the surgery I was nervous but Dr. Ryu was incredibly warm and took the time to explain everything in detail. His approach really helped me feel calm and confident going into it.

The results honestly exceeded my expectations. The stitches were super fine and almost invisible. Even just one month after surgery, I already feel more beautiful and confident than I have in years.
