The market for cosmetic surgery in India is swelling rapidly due to the intense urge among people to look their best and feel good about themselves. When men agree to go in for a cosmetic treatment, procedures like Liposuction and Male Breast Reduction take the lead. But how much do you really know about Gynecomastia?
Gynaecomastia or „lady-like breasts” implies an expansion of the male breast as a consequence of an irregularity in the glandular tissue. This disorder can be seen in 40-60% of men in different degrees and the best option to deal with it is cosmetic surgery. If a single procedure can metamorphose the entire appearance and confidence of a person, then it's definitely worth a try!
Chest Liposuction removes only fat tissue. Male breasts also have tough glandular tissue which does not come out by traditional Liposuction. Gynecomastia surgery utilizes a modified method of Liposuction where modest cuts are made around the areola and at different places in the midsection so that a minor metal tube (cannula) could be inserted for the suction of the greasy tissue.
Junk foods do not cause Gynecomastia. The glandular component occurs due to a temporary hormonal imbalance during puberty. Excess weight gain can cause the male breasts to become bigger as the fat component increases.
It is unlikely that already formed male breast tissue will decrease with any non surgical / medical treatment. The surgery for Gynecomastia is purely cosmetic and is meant to improve the appearance and create a normal manly chest.
Male breasts usually have two components - glandular tissue and fat. The fat component can be partially reduced through diet and gym, but the glandular component will not be reduced by any amount of exercises; it can be removed only by surgery.
The corset provides compression and thus limits the post operative swelling. It also helps to support the skin during healing and to reduce loose skin after surgery.
Generally Gynecomastia surgery will take care of the problem permanently. Weight gain, steroids, hormones, or other factors could contribute to a recurrence of Gynecomastia.
After Gynecomastia surgery you may experience moderate discomfort. Swelling and bruising are normal after surgery and will start to subside in a few weeks. You may return to work within 7-10 days after surgery, but demanding activities should be avoided for the first 2-3 weeks.
There is no causal connection between masturbation and Gynecomastia, which can be based on a hormonal imbalance or congenital predisposition.
Klinefelter's syndrome is the set of symptoms resulting from a genetic disorder in which there is at least one extra X chromosome to a standard human male karyotype, for a total of 47 chromosomes rather than the 46 found in genetically typical humans. Klinefelter's syndrome also can lead to Gynecomastia.
