Prof. Yong WU completed his medical degree at Beijing Medical University (now Health Science Center at Peking University) , where he graduated at the top of his class. He then went on to complete his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, where he gained valuable experience in treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions. He is now a medical professor in Peking University and Tsinghwa University, and retired, as ex-Director of Foot and Ankle Department, from the Hospital after 40-year service there.

His areas of expertise include arthroscopic debridement, supramalleo-lar osteotomy, external fixation, total ankle replacement, and ankle fusion. Notably, he has advanced skills in the use of 3D printing technology for foot and ankle joint replacement procedures. He is believed one of the podiatrists who has successfully completed the most surgeries of total ankle replacement all over the world.
