We believe in meeting patients' individual needs through comprehensive evaluation and treatment designed to help them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle.
Many musculoskeletal conditions can be treated by non-surgical techniques--surgery is just one treatment option. We combine edge techniques with proven traditional methods to provide our patients with the best orthopedic care possible.
We work to develop a partnership with our patients. On our part, this begins with listening. And one of the most important things we need to know is how the physical problem affects the patient's life.
See Dr. Greig's orthopedic surgery video.
We develop a dialogue, through which our patients understand the diagnostic process, their own unique problem, their treatment choices, and the recovery process. Patients help to guide and direct diagnostic and treatment activities.

Dr. Max Greig Focuses on following Orthopedic Treatments and Surgeries:
Total hip replacement surgery by Dr. Max Greig (also called total hip arthroplasty) is about replacing the damaged bone and cartilage with prosthetic components. The damaged femoral head is removed and replaced with a metal stem that is placed into the hollow center of the femur. The femoral stem may be either cemented or "press fit" into the bone.
A metal or ceramic ball is placed on the upper part of the stem. This ball replaces the damaged femoral head that was removed.
The damaged cartilage surface of the socket is removed and replaced with a metal socket. Screws or cement are sometimes used to hold the socket in place.
A plastic, ceramic, or metal spacer is inserted between the new ball and the socket to allow for a smooth gliding surface.
A knee replacement at Dr. Max Greig Orthopedic Surgeon is a four basic steps procedure.
Bone preparation - when the damaged cartilage surfaces at the ends of the femur and tibia are removed along with a small amount of underlying bone.
Positioning of the metal implants - when the cartilage is removed and the bone and cartilage are both replaced with metal components that recreate the surface of the joint. These metal parts may be cemented or "press-fit" into the bone.
Resurfacing of the patella - the patella (kneecap) is cut and resurfaced with a plastic button.
Inserting a spacer - a medical-grade plastic spacer, which is inserted between the metal components to create a smooth gliding surface.

If your symptoms persist with nonsurgical treatment, Dr. Max Greig suggests arthroscopic surgery.
The Knee arthroscopy is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures, performed with the help of a miniature camera inserted through a small incision. This provides a clear view of the inside of the knee. Dr. Max Greig will insert miniature surgical instruments through other small incisions to trim or repair the tear.
Advancements in surgical techniques for rotator cuff repair include less invasive procedures. While each of the methods available has its own advantages and disadvantages, all have the same goal: getting the tendon to heal.
Many surgical repairs can be done on an outpatient basis and do not require you to stay overnight in the hospital. Dr. Max Greig, Orthopedic surgeon will discuss with you the best procedure to meet your individual health needs.
The three techniques most commonly used for rotator cuff repair:
In the end, patients rate all three repair methods the same for pain relief, strength improvement, and overall satisfaction.
