1.PERSONALIZED GENETIC CHECK-UP / PREVENTIVE MEDICINE

   At the point where the science of genetics has reached today, it has become possible to apply special treatment to individuals, not based on statistics. 2.CANCER GENETICS / TREATMENT

   Although the developing technology has improved the treatment methods for many diseases, the targeted results could not be achieved for many cancer types yet, because of their different developing path in every different case.  Cancer can be simply defined as, uncontrolled and mistimed cell division because of some problems occurring in proteins which have roles in cell cycle and it is hard to diagnose cancer early in some types. Genetic factors also play an important role in some cancer types.  Especially if there is a person in the family with breast, colon or ovarian cancer, the other family members are also at risk and genetic tests and health scanning must be done for early diagnosis. 10% of these 3 types of cancer are hereditary. As well as being hereditary they can also occur sporadically (first time in the family).

   There are approximately 23.000 genes in humans.  There are differences in human DNA called single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and these differences are the main causes of variety among people.  But some differentiations on genes (mutations) can cause diseases like cancer. For example, the tumor suppressor gene, TP53, produces a protein called p53 which stops cells to over-grow during cell cycle and keeps the growth under control. A problem (mutation) on this gene, therefore this protein, disrupts this balance and plays an important role in occurrence of many different cancer types.

3.GENETIC TEST / GENETIC CONSULTATION

     Science of genetics has shown a rapid progress recent years as the Human Genome Project was completed. As a result of this study it is determined that the human genome consists of 23.000 genes. Another important discovery made after this study is that approximately 10 million single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) can be found in every person. These polymorphisms cause the variety and differences among people.  While some SNP’s may cause diseases, some may increase the tendency for some diseases. Genetic consulting becomes very important at this point. Genetic consulting determines a personal treatment way via genetic test opportunities offered by the developing technology. Genetic consulting especially becomes more important for those who have a background of genetic diseases in family history. These people can be informed by genetic consulting about which genetic problems he or she has or has not and which diseases this problem may cause.  4.REJENERATIVE MEDICINE  / STEM CELL THERAPIES

     Regenerative medicine is being used on many fields recent years. It is possible to make cells, tissues and even organs which have lost their normal function, functional again via this branch of medicine. Regenerative medicine expression was first used by Leland Kaiser in 1992 in a paper he wrote. The regenerative cells and stem cells obtained from the patient’s self are particularly preferred biological materials on this field. This method is preferred especially because it has fewer side effects compared to other treatment methods during and after treatment. Nowadays, regenerative medicine has started being utilized on type-1 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and even on diseases that affect central nervous system.

DIABETIC FOOT INJURIES

25% of diabetic patients suffer from diabetic foot complaints to some degree; 8% of these result in amputation of the foot or toes. Regenerative cell treatment finally allows effective treatment of the surgical area with far less extreme and tolerable results.

BURNS

Heavy (third degree) burns are amongst the most difficult conditions to treat and present special challenges to surgeons. Regenerative medicine applies healthy regenerating tissue from the patient to treat such burns and restore a healthy natural appearance.
