“Precise 2® is an orthopedic extension nail in the form of an interlocking metal rod. It is inserted through a small incision into the bone canal. After the operation, a special remote control is given to the patient. When this control is placed against the leg, the magnets inside the Precise 2® slowly extend the magnetic motor inside. Thus, the longer the nail, the longer the bone.

The Precise 2® nail can be of different lengths and diameters, but the patient's bone structure must be appropriate. The bone diameter must be wide enough for the nail to fit inside the bone canal. The lengthening process, which takes place in the form of separating the cut ends of the bone with the control of the inserted apparatus, is started 1 week-10 days after the operation. Thus, blood vessels and soft tissue maturation between the two ends of the bone in the osteotomy area, and surgical wounds are allowed to heal. At this stage, the patient is allowed to walk using a walker.

New bone formation and progress are followed with controls and x-rays. Approximately 3 months may be required for the complete healing and consolidation of the newly formed bone in 8-9 cm lengthenings. At this stage, the patient should leave the walker and start walking using only a cane or nothing.
