VISX STAR S4 IR (Iris Registration) Custom VuePlatform is the most precise and recent equipment used for in-depth and accurate laser visual correction in each individual pattern cornea.  The technology allows each person attain their personal best in eyesight.

Am I A Candidate?

 

Candidate for Laser Visual Correction:

• 18 years or older.
• For patients suffering:
  • Myopia: up to –12.00 diopters.
  • Astigmatism: up to -6.00 diopters.
  • Hyperopia: up to + 5.00 diopters.
• Patients in whom visual disturbance is exclusively due to myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism and is not due to other intra ocular pathology or systemic disease. Non Candidate for laser:
• Patients with keratoconus, Corneal Scars due to past infections or herpes virus.
• Patients with collagen vascular disease.

Candidates for cataract surgery:

• Any patient with cataract of any age, and whose visual deficit is exclusively due to the cataract and NO other intra ocular pathology such as retinal problems, glaucoma or hemorrhages.

Our Treatments

 

LASIK & LASEK / PRK

Perfect Vision offers laser visual correction for:

• Myopia,
• Hyperopia,
• Astigmatism
• Hyperopia with the VISX S4 Iris Registration Custom Vue plattaform.

Laser Visual Correction is a fine and exact procedure in which the laser ablation performs a correction of the irregular curvature of the corneal surface in order to change it and obtain a perfect curvature that will allow you to improve the quality of your vision.

 

This laser ablation can be corrected either with LASIK or LASEK procedures.

LASIK

• In this procedure, prior to the laser ablation, a corneal flap is created with precise instrument.
• The ablation is performed under the flap and NOT directly over the corneal surface.
• This procedure therefore respects the corneal surface, which is the most sensible part of the cornea.
• The recovery is almost immediate and 6 hours after the procedure the vision is almost perfect and symptoms are practically over.
• You must need a certain amount of corneal thickness for this procedure.

LASEK / PRK

• In this procedure the laser ablation is performed directly over the corneal surface.
• Recovery is slower and takes about 48 to 72 hours.
• This is the procedure of choice for thin cornea.
• Most of the procedures done at Perfect Vision are Lasik, with a fast recovery that will allow you to continue enjoy your vacation at the next day after laser treatment.

 

Laser Monovision Treatment

Laser Monovision Treatment focuses on one eye (the dominant eye) for long distance and intermediate vision, and the non-dominant  for short distance or reading vision. The treatment works in-depth and lets the brain get used rather fast to see long distance with one eye and read or see close objects with the other.

Presbilasik

Presbylasik is a procedure that corrects the presbyopia for persons older than 43 and is suitable 100% for women and more than 80% for men. With this VISX technology candidates that have hyperopia of +1.25 and astigmatism of less than 0.75, will have the dominant eye corrected for far vision and the other one for near vision.

Intraocular Lenses

Two mayor companies have developed multifocal intraocular lenses:

 

• The RESTOR by ALCON laboratories
• The REZOOM by AMO laboratories

This fantastic intraocular lenses will allow you to see near and far. This are usually implanted in the eye after a cataract surgery.

Visual Problems

Myopia

• Myopia is the optical problem in which the patient can not see well far away. It is due to an exaggerated corneal curvature or a big eye ball. This patients can see well at near. This problem can be perfectly corrected with laser technology .

Hyperopia

• Hyperopia affects the near vision of patients older than 40 years and many times is associated with problems with the far vision also, which can be corrected with the presbylasik procedure. These kind of patients have a perfect distance vision till 40, when suddenly the near one becomes seriously damaged and the far one begins to be more and more imperfect.

Astigmatism

• Astigmatism is the optical problem that causes distorted vision,due to an irregular cornea. This problem can be successfully treated with laser. Astigmatism can present alone or in association with either myopia or hyperopia, and it can all be perfectly rented with laser visual correction.

Presbyopia

• Presbyopia is the optical condition in which the patient looses its ability for reading and is due to age. It’s a normal physiological process and it can be compared to the inability to focus a camera for near vision. The camera simply looses its ability for near focus. This problem starts around the age of 43-44 and Perfect Vision offers several options for the correction of presbyopia.
• This fantastic intraocular lenses will allow you to see near and far. This are usually implanted in the eye after a cataract surgery.

Cataracts

• A cataract is an opacificatios of the clear crystalline lens with inside the eye that normally happens with age. Its usual presentation is after 60, but cataracts can present in younger people.
• PERFECT VISION offers the latest technology for the correction of this visual problem, which is phacoemulsification of the cataract with microincisions and finally the implant of a foldable intraocular lens. This procedure takes from 15 to 25 minutes, only drops for topical anesthesia,and fast recovery.

Carlos Alcocer Lamm, MD

• Graduated from medical school at Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City with honors.
• He did his internship at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida.
• Dr. Alcocer continued his education and did his ophthalmological residency at the prestigious Asociacion Para Evitar la Ceguera in Mexico City.
• Dr. Alcocer did special training and fellowship programs in Ophthalmic Pathology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Asociacion Para Evitar la Ceguera en Mexico.
• Dr. Alcocer has performed over 100 persbyopia corrections for hypeopic patients with tremendous success with the VISX international program, prior to its FDA approval in the USA.
